I think I'm more excited about this than he is :rotfl2: He had an interview yesterday afternoon with Disney Interactive in Holllywood, CA and I haven't heard back from him to see how it went. He was 90% confident they were offering the job since this is the third time they've contacted him but he isn't crazy about the commute (45-min via bus line). He had another interview in the morning with a swimsuit company that's only 10 mins from his house but offering $10/hr less. (He is in web design field and is crazy busy working from home so is kind of spoiled not having to go into a office.)

Anyone out there who has interviewed with Disney before who might like to share their stories (whether you got hired or not)?

$10/hour is a huge amount of money to forgo just because of a 45 minute commute that you don't even have to do the driving on! Bring a book, take your laptop, sleep. I commute 25 minutes now and it feels like 5 after all this time, I'd love if someone else did the driving though. :rotfl:

I've interviewed with Disney a total of two times. :thumbsup2

Tell him to take the Disney job if offered. They pay $1 a day to commute using public transportation. The health benefits are insane, too. 401k, plus a pension, plus great healthcare, plus the Disney discounts and tickets, etc.

I believe I do know where they are, and it is a good area for lunches etc. if your son isn't into bringing his own from home.

Oh, and the commuting office has contests all the time.

The current one is a Summer Promotion and the top prize is a Disney Cruise. They often give away iPods and other fun things.

Thanks, everyone for your suggestions! I'd work there even if it were an hour or more commute! I worked for the local Disney store until they closed it down and even tho it was retail, I had a blast! I was always being called to the cash register when anyone was buying park tickets because I was the only one who could give the guests advice (even the manager who had been 3x's didn't know have of what I do thanks to the Dis! :thumbsup2)

BTW I just heard from my son and he doesn't think he'll get this job, at least. To quote him -The position ended up not being what the recruiter's description was (he works thru an agency). The recruiter's description was more catered to what he does while this position was for Mobile development (phones, consoles) using a language he's rarely used. So, after about 20 minutes the first guy he was interviewing with left...didn't shake his hand when he left, either. My son was a little displeased by that, but oh well.

The next guy came in who was the Senior Producer for the Mobile division and he ended up being really nice. He asked about his background and seemed genuinely interested but had to cut the meeting short because he was double booked. My son doubt's he will get anything out of it, but at least like he says "I got my foot in the door."

He also said the commute wasn't as far as he thought. They also told him they would keep him in mind as they were very impressed with his resume & background. So hope he gets something out of it all.

And I love to commute via rail or bus - my "down" time to nap or read or just enjoy the scenery!
