OK, this may have been asked before, but here goes - my family is on free dining and my DS is 10 so we'll be 3 Adults. Can my DS choose to eat off the child's if he's not interested in what's available on the regular menu?

What I have seen posted, and what makes sense is that you can order off the childs menu but you will still use a credit (even though they are all adult credits). I can't see Disney upset about saving money.

I'll make a deal with you. I'll have to meet you and your child can have my kid's child credit and then my kid will take your adult credit. What do you think, deal??? ;)

Others have posted that their 10+ kids were allowed to order off the childs menu and received slightly larger portions. I don't recall what restaraunts did this.

We go through this with our 12 year old grandson. Keep in mind you can modify the entree. We take our GS out to eat often, and he reads the menu carefully. He does not hesitate to tell the server to hold the onions, peppers, sauces and he also will ask to substitute a vegie for a different vegie, fries for mash potatoes. We are paying for the meal, so he should have it prepared the way he wants. Since he's also a disney adult I see him ordering filet mignon with fries at LeCellier on his next trip in Oct. We have never had a server tell us it can't be done. Since he travels with us often, he knows how to order at a restraurant and is not shy about it. He knows please and thank you makes the servers very accommodating.
