We are at T minus 1 week until our trip. DS is a good napper at home although he does cry for 5-10 minutes before falling asleep. I have never had much luck while we are out though. He'll nap in the car, but if he's in the stroller he fights it.

Last weekend we were at Kohl's. I faced him towards a wall in the corner of the store and pushed him back and forth for 15 minutes until he finally fell asleep (at which time I blissfully shopped). DH and I are very concerned that we will have a grumpy, overtired baby on our hands at the parks.

Any tricks or suggestions?

TIA

My first DD who is now 8 yrs old would fall asleep anywhere if she was tired. My second DD who is now 6 was the complete opposite would only sleep in her crib or the car. What we did at nap times was leave the park and go back to the hotel room. As long as she was in the crib she was fine. It was a nice break for us to also to put our feet up for awhile. I do recommend that you bring your own stroller. You might get lucky and baby will nap one or two days in your stroller. Bring babies comfort items, special blankets or pacifiers. I'm sure that you will have a great time.

Our generally didn't want to sleep in the stroller either but when they were finally tired enough they took a nap. We also try to take time out in the middle of the day to get rest and take them somewhere where they can calm down without missing anything.

We always got to the parks at opening, went back to the room around 1 or 2 for a nap (which ds always took) and swim, then went back out for dinner/ parks. This worked great for us. Good luck and have a great time!

We use the baby station for a quiet place to get him to sleep, holding him, walking with him, whatever it takes, and then transfer to the stroller. He'll sleep through the noises of the park, it's just too overwhelming for him to fall asleep in it.

Last year DS was 10 months old when we went and I was afriad of the same thing. Going back tot he room wasn't really an option becaus ewe also have 4 older children and they would not have been happy campers leaving the parks just so Christian could nap. When always made sure we had his blanket pacifier and bottles with us. When he started to fuss one of us would lay the stroller back flat and just push him some where quiet. We also brought along an extra LIGHT blanket to drap over the front of the stroller to block the sunlight out (and to protect him from the sun.He could use sunscreen yet). It did work out well for us. It was not his normal napping but he did take more shorter naps during the day! Good luck andf have a great trip! :cool1:

Both our children (5 and 9) fell sound asleep on the train at MK. We just stayed on for several loops until we felt they had slept enough and they woke refreshed and ready to go :bounce: :Pinkbounc There are several rides that might do the trick (Energy at Epcot comes to mind).
