Hello,
My DD was also very difficult to wean off the bottle, but since she didn't fall asleep with it or "play" with it, ped said to keep giving milk in the bottle until her 2nd bday, which we did.
She never did drink milk from a cup...she gets water (or juice once in a while) to drink, has cereal with milk and loves yogurt and cheese. Many kids live witout milk without a problem. The big mystery is that both DH and I are milk freaks, we probably drink too much of the stuff!!!
