Last night he was pulling out of WaWa in his new car (had it less than 6 months). I feel so bad for him. He has the small Acura and bought it brand new. His old car was stolen while he was still in college. Someone from another car motioned for him to pull out and along came a Ford Explorer right into him. The woman driving tried to stop and slipped on the ice. He got the ticket. The car and insurance are in my name. Oh, the headaches begin! I just thank God that no one was hurt. The car is not drivable and was towed. My other DS has a 2 year old Honda Civic that was involved in a hit and run while parked in a parking lot at a school where he was student teaching. That has $1200. 00 in damage. That is also in my name. DH is now afraid our insurance company will drop us because we've had 3 claims in one year. This is the only one that anyone got a ticket for. No one knows who stole the car or hit the other car so all deduct. are out of our pockets.

 to you and DS. While this is all a pain and will cost some $$, the important thing is that no one was hurt.

Sorry to hear this, like you saidatleast your son wasn't hurt(he must have been freezing on such a cold night). There's just so much to look for out on the road, especially if your a new driver. I can empathise with you, my DS got his license in November. He hasn't done a whole lot of driving (maybe twice) I think I've scared him off the roadways!

I'm glad your son is Ok. Im sorry about the situation. My bil (20)just had his 2nd accident this year and it has been an ordeal with the ins comp. Good luck
Tara

My DS has been driving since he was 17 and will be 24 in March. He's had a perfect driving record until last night. He's never even been pulled over before so he was really uspset. He is usually pretty calm. He just can't seem to get ahead! He graduated from college in June and is working full time but he lost money on the stolen car and now we are hoping this one can be fixed. We have a $500.00 ded.

I'm glad he is ok! Keep an eye on your insurance, they are dropping people alot more lately. My neighbor just got dropped by the insurance she's had for 20 years. Her college aged dd got into an accident and they are fighting the ticket (stop sign completely covered by bushes which the city has since removed) and her college aged ds totalled her brand new minivan (with her elementary aged kids inside, but no one hurt seriously). They dropped her a few months after the van accident.

Im glad your DS is ok. Its so scary, no matter how old they are! My DS only had his licence a few months when he had an accident. We were all in Disney, and DBIL had to call us to tell us. OMG, talk about a heart attack!!! He was ok, his car banged up pretty good. DS was taking a left on a green light, car across from him was stopped waiting to turn, when DS started to go, a car came around from behind the first car and slammed into him. He knew it was his fault, DS couldnt get his doors open at first, the guy ran over to make sure he was ok, but then when the cops showed up the guy threw himself on his car screaming his back hurt. Ya ok. I made sure I filed a report to the insurance making sure they knew the whole story. Nothing ever came of it! Some people:mad:
