Out of no where Friday night DS2 7 says he lost a tooth. DAAAAH - no blood, no prior mention. :o Still I didn't think much of it - some of his teeth are in double rows. The tooth fairy left him a dollar. The next morning DS1 was upset because he said the tooth was his and that his brother had taken from his tooth box. (The tooth fairy sometimes leaves the tooth.) Luckily the tooth fairy had taken this tooth. The "fake" tooth turned up under DS2's pillow in his brother's tooth box with a sad face note. DS2 was so upset. He knew he messed up and was afraid that the tooth fairy would never come again. I suggested (but didn't insist or supervise) that he put the dollar back under his pillow last night. He did. The dollar was gone in the morning & there was a giant smily face note in it's place. DS2 was so happy. I told him how proud I was that he fixed his mistake.

P.S. His excuse - he just wanted a dollar really bad. (I told him I had plenty of jobs he could do to earn a dollar.)

You did that very well. I never had that happen, but if I do, that's how I'll handle it.

I've so much to learn. We just started with the tooth fairy. DD (age 5) lost of her first tooth in October - very uneventful for her, but I was flipping out. Then last week, the day we returned from WDW she bit into a chicken leg and SWALLOWED her second tooth. She was so upset that the tooth fairy wouldn't come, but we assured her she knew. LOL. I'll keep this lesson from you in mind.

Lol - I had never heard of a kid doing that. You handled it well. :)

Kids say and do the darnest things!

I didn't think it was possible to trick the tooth fairy. He must be a very smart little boy :)

Glad he leanred his lesson.
