DS starts pre-school today: He is home!

In half an hour I'll be taking my youngest for his first day of pre-school. I feel like this and this and this He has been excited and talking about nothing else for the past week, so I guess that means he is ready. School is everyday from 845 - 323, but I'll be picking him up at 100 unless he is adamant about staying. I have planned a scrapfest to get me through the first day.

Susan, it sounds like he's so ready to go, but it's hard on us Moms to see our babies growing up so fast. Enjoy your scrapfest today and I hope your little guy has a fantastic day at school.

I'd like to say it gets easier, but it is one day at a time. Some days I really like the house to myself and then other days I'm pacing the floor staring at the clock.

I survived the drop off. He was so happy! I could not find a a packback yesterday, so what I ended up with is a backpack that was part of a luggage set, orginally $70, marked down to $20 -- it is a great bag, but is almost bigger than he is! I kept waiting for him to tip over. He loves it.

First call from school -- my very good friend is the guidance counselor, he is in his classroom and still happy.

He loved it! He is mad that I picked him up -- the rest of the class was headed out to the playground for their 2nd "gross motor time" of the day and then inside to nap. He said he wants to stay for nap time tomorrow. He is pretty tired now, but won't nap here of course. He wanted to do homeowrk, so I made some up. He wrote a bunch of W (for Wade) and Ms because he noticed it is similar. He is kind of zonked in front his favorite show -- The Backyardigans.

Good news -- he went to school in a pull-up but did not have any accidents and went on his own without being prompted. Yesterday was his 1st day without any accidents. I am glad he didn't have a set back.

I guess I'll let him stay....I don't know. I'll see how tired he is as the day goes on.

Glad to hear he is so excited..that is a good thing!!!! I'd test it out tomorrow and see how he does...that way you have the weekend to evaluate and decide which time is truely best for you and him!!!
