DS is 2 yrs 7 months. He has been doing a good job at home with the potty training when we can just let him run in his birthday skin....but not with clothes on or out in public. I guess he just would forget and then we would have an accident.

We decided not to push the potty training too hard until we returned from vacation. We thought it would just be easier with the diapers. Well, we left on a Friday late at night. That day he decided he would not go in his diaper anymore. No accidents at daycare. None in the car or on the plane. And then the breakthrough where he started telling us "I have to pee" even at night. The whole trip he had NO accidents during the day and only a few times at night did he go in the diaper. We used Pullups during the day and a diaper at night. It really wasn't so bad as there are bathrooms everywhere in WDW and we had 3 adults to take turns running him there.

He has been in underwear during the day since we got back on Saturday and no accidents. I still diaper him at night as he hasn't been waking up then (he must sleep a lot more soundly at home), but for his age I am thrilled with him being day trained. I also am not a big fan of pull ups but my son has no confusion with them and diapers. They are nice when out and about in case you just can't find or make it to a bathroom.

So anyway, for all you parents out there with trips planned with newly potty trained kids, it really isn't so bad!

Congrats to you! You must be so excited. I loved the day I was able to stop changing diapers!

We are actually going to MNSSHP tomorrow for my DD's "potty training trip"!! When we went in April I didn't push the issue and then when we got home she was PT. We told her when she went so many days without accidents that she would get to go to Disney and tomorrow is the day!!

This is good news! I am on the fence everyday whether to start the potty training now or wait until after Disney. If it wasn't for our upcoming trip, I think I would have already started, but I've been afraid they (twins) will be afraid of the potties at WDW and it will mess up the whole process.

I was armed with sticky notes for the auto flush sensors and didn't need them. He thought the toilets were great and wanted to know why ours didn't auto flush when we got home :lmao:

Please, Please send some Pixie Dust on my almost 3YO who has absolutely no interest in the potty. I haven't pushed at all - just mention it from time to time - but nope - nothing - nada. I wanted her in preschool - but they won't take her cuz she not trained.

Congratulations to you and your son!!

It is a wonderful feeling to be free of diapers (your bank balance appreciates it too!!!!!)

Congrats!!! My DS also was potty trained from going on our Disney trip. We drove and everytime we took bathroom breaks so did he. Same with at the parks, when we went, he went. Had a dry pull up the whole week so when we came home he switched to underwear. It was so awesome. Money saved  .

I'll never forget when we were on the "Great Movie Ride" and he said half way through that he had to go potty and he kept saying it....some parents started to look at me funny :sad2: Since we hadn't even started potty training at the time (we were waiting until after the trip because he was not quite 3 yet) I told him that's why he has a pull up on...so he can go potty...I know...I know...but he caught me off guard.

But I'm pleased to say he was the easiest of the 3 kids to potty train.:yay:
