DS is 2 yrs 7 months. He has been doing a good job at home with the potty training when we can just let him run in his birthday skin....but not with clothes on or out in public. I guess he just would forget and then we would have an accident.
We decided not to push the potty training too hard until we returned from vacation. We thought it would just be easier with the diapers. Well, we left on a Friday late at night. That day he decided he would not go in his diaper anymore. No accidents at daycare. None in the car or on the plane. And then the breakthrough where he started telling us "I have to pee" even at night. The whole trip he had NO accidents during the day and only a few times at night did he go in the diaper. We used Pullups during the day and a diaper at night. It really wasn't so bad as there are bathrooms everywhere in WDW and we had 3 adults to take turns running him there.
He has been in underwear during the day since we got back on Saturday and no accidents. I still diaper him at night as he hasn't been waking up then (he must sleep a lot more soundly at home), but for his age I am thrilled with him being day trained. I also am not a big fan of pull ups but my son has no confusion with them and diapers. They are nice when out and about in case you just can't find or make it to a bathroom.
So anyway, for all you parents out there with trips planned with newly potty trained kids, it really isn't so bad!

Since we hadn't even started potty training at the time (we were waiting until after the trip because he was not quite 3 yet) I told him that's why he has a pull up on...so he can go potty...I know...I know...but he caught me off guard.
