DS Parade

For our trip the 2nd week in August we are planning on doing the Fantasmic dinner package at the Brown Derby. My DS4 is dying to see the parade so he can see the Star Wars characters, which begins at 5:30. Passporter's map has the parade route going right by the entrance to BD. I'm thinking we can eat and then step outside to watch the parade. My question is what time do you think I should try and make the reservations? Thanks to all!
