Does anyone really go to the movies while on vacation. if so did you like the AMC at DS?
pro's/con's?
thanks

we have a down day and this may be an option

Yep, we've gone to the AMC in DS a few times. It's nothing "special" outside of what other modern AMCs are. Just a nice place to see a movie. We did the dinner and movie one time. It was a lot of fun, but won't do it again, as we spent something like $200 for the 5 of us and it was just traditional "pub" food.

When we go, it's typically not "planned" ahead. It's more on a whim...maybe it's raining and/or we've been in the parks all day and are looking for something relaxing. For our trip this summer, Cars3 is coming out a few weeks before we go. If we have a day where we just want to chill, we may well go see it at DS.

We do, especially when going during warmer months. When you want an off day like you said, it is a nice place to keep cool and have lower energy output.

The DS theater is fine. When we went last it was kind of a newfangled thing where you could order food and drinks from your seats.

:wizard:

We also did the dinner and a movie one on our last trip and saw Star Wars. It was great. Like PP said, we did not plan this but when afternoon storms rolled in we decided that would be better than just returning to our room.

We like going to the dine in theater. The food used to be really good now it is ok, but we do enjoy the huge comfy seats. More space and the kids like the shakes.

There is also an Imax AMC at citywalk if you care to drive/uber over. Depending on the movie, we sometimes opt to view there.

Yes, we go, particularly if it's opening weekend for a movie. We like the dine in theater, although since we now have one of those at home with even better food, the novelty of that is lost. We love going to take a break from the parks to relax, take a break from the heat or rain. Sometimes DH and DD go while I nap.

We ended up going on our recent trip, DD and I ended up in the dine in theater because that was the way to match most closely the time of the movie my DH and DS were seeing and it was really nice, we didn't eat (although most of the other people seeing the movie did) but it was very comfortable (both in terms of seats and leg room) and we each got a cocktail which we enjoyed just to take advantage of the option! Would definitely return

Tons of people go. People on vacation as well as a bunch of locals.

It's a nice theater as you can do the traditional side or dine in side. Which anywhere near where I live we don't have a dinner theater.

My only complaint is that it's an AMC theater instead of Regal

The theatre is nice! We didn't do the dine-in theatre (I have an aversion to those, since I hate to be pulled out of a story with lots of people moving around and whispering, etc. ), but they have plenty of snacks to purchase on the non-dining side (there are two sides to the theatre). We actually brought all of our stuff from Starbuck's into the theatre and no one said anything to us.

It was fun - we also went to see Star Wars on a rainy day.

We saw Beauty and the Beast there on Sunday morning. It's a pretty nice theater and we wanted something else to do on our short day while we were at DS.

We've gone, especially when a new Disney movie debuts during our trip. We've done both the Dine in side and the regular side. The last time we went the regular side was still open seating. Someone recently mentioned it's gone to reserved seating like the Dine in side. I haven't checked to see if that is still the case or if it was a test. I'd actually like that in some ways
