DS lite case... any opinions?

So I got the DS lite for DS's bday in Feb. I need a case for it, he can be hard on things, but the stores are limited in my area to see them and online reviews are so mixed. Here is what I'm looking for:

Of course for the DS lite

I'd like it to hold at least a couple of game cartridges (or whatever they're called)

I want something the DS can stay in while being played

If he drops it, the DS is protected WELL, I saw some that latch shut so if they're dropped they won't pop open

I'm not concerned with weight, size, characters on it or color.

Does anyone have a particular case that fits all these?

While it doesn't hold any of the game cartridges, the Nerf protector is what we have on our DS's DS. (That's a lot of Ds and Ss!) That thing has saved his DS from ruin more than once! Then we have a separate DS carrying bag that the DS and the games go in.

Another vote for the Nerf case....after my at the time 3 y/o daughter dropped my son's DS just in the right way with another case on it and broke it, I wanted more protection. Now they each have their own, they have been dropped and abused quite a lot and I just finally had to replace the cases, but the DS's were just fine. We have all hardwood flooring, so there is rarely a soft landing in this house, I am very impressed!

Another HUGE vote for the Nerf. Both my kids have the Nerf. My son has dropped his a million times and while there is a small crack on the back where the Nerf doesn't cover it, it's at least intact! It would have been completely broken without the Nerf.

My son has his in a portable DVD carrying case, so the nerf and charger go where the DVD player would go, and the games go in a pouch up front.

My daughter has a Nintendo brand DS case that I got a TRU...it has little organizers in the back for 20 games, a place for the nerf, charger, stylus, etc. She's much more organized so this works better for her.

Both bags fit the DS already encased in the Nerf (you shouldn't remove the Nerf)

Another vote for the Nerf case. It has SAVED our sons DS numbers of times. That being said it cannot hold any extra games. He had a leapster before his DS and we had bought a game holder. It just holds 6-8 games and then that goes with his DS. Now my daughter is much more gentle and she has a little purse DS case. It fits tyhe DS and 2 games.

Too funny!! This is the one I saw at the stores and thought "gee, I bet this is a good case!" It just didn't have anywhere to hold games. Sure looks like this is what I should be looking at and do something else for games. The protection is the number one thing. He has a Diji and has dropped it several times, even had to replace one of them because it wouldn't work after being dropped. And it's just from him taking it places with him, not that he's really that rough on them.

I went through this at Christmas with the XL. I bought the Nerf per recommendation from my 5th graders. I also bought this bag to store everything in especially when we travel

You can order from amazon or I found mine at Walmart and the DSI XL fits inside even with the Nerf case on the DSI. That was the problem I had when I bought the Nerf case it made the DSI bigger and would not fit in many of the cases.

Nerf. My son got one with his DSi at Christmas. I liked it so much I bought one for my DSi too. Not only does it protect it from falls I find the DSi much easier to hold with the Nerf case.

I got my DD a Nerf case and a nice carrying case on Amazon. We've had the DS for a few years now and it is still in once piece.

Nerf all the way!! We had a separate little mario backpack thing for it. I just wish they would make the nerf case for the dsiXL! I would snap that up in a heartbeat!

another vote for Nerf. We have the Nerf XL which has it's own stylus built into the case, holds the ds, charger and 12 games.

We had purchased ours in a store (I think TRU) but I don't see them anymore but amazon has them

it says it will fit the DSi and XL. Not sure if it's the same thing as the nerf for the lite, if it's as good, but maybe worth checking on if you want a nerf for the xl. Says direct from Toys r Us so maybe they have it in stores to see it...

checked TRU and they have a couple of cases for the XL or DSi. By looking at the picture they don't look quite the same, but I'm going to check the store and see what they're like... they hold games too :> and say they work for DS XL or i......

Nerf all the way !!! i brought my daughter one a few years ago while in the USA, unfortunately we cant get them here in the UK, i need one for my son so will be purchasing his in August this year when we return to the happiest place on earth. whoop whoop.
