We've been keeping a close eye on DS's teeth ( he's 7 ) and still not been showing any sign of losing his baby teeth. Monday he started complaining of toothache so we looked at his teeth and he sems to have his last molar coming through of his baby teeth.Mmmm... strange... I think and then he tells me all his teeth are hurting but he doesn't want any pulled out(we've noticed before that he grinds his teeth in his sleep). So this morning I gave him some medicine and sent him to school and rang up the dentist who said bring him in for 9.15 tomorrow morning.
Last time he had a visit to the dentist they put a temporary cover on his teeth they thought it would give his teeth time to come through on their own. DH has explained to DS that he may need to have some teeth pulled out at some point in the future to let his adult teeth grow through so I'm waiting to see what happens in the morning. It would just be our luck for him to have a tooth or two removed before we go to WDW and he'll have a nice gap in his smile in his photos.:surfweb:

Hope everything goes well for your DS tomorrow:hug:

Ahh bless him, hope it all goes okay

Hi,
I wouldn't worry, my DS is 8 and half and has only lost one tooth!! In the past couple of months he has acquired 3 new teeth but they are behind his baby teeth ( bottom row at the front) so we now say he is a shark!! He currently has 4 loose teeth so we're telling him the tooth fairy is camping on the roof in anticipation!!

Our dentist isn't worried at all, although he said last year if there were no signs soon he would do some x-rays to see why they were taking so long.

Well we went to the dentist who examined DS and he said his last molar is finally breaking through (which we guessed) but it can cause pain elsewhere along that side of the jaw. Something to do with the way the root canals are all linked:confused3
Anyway along with that he's also got 2 or 3 loose teeth on that side too but they may take a few more months before they fall out the adult ones are already waiting to come through so the dentist said not to worry. He put some fluoride gel on DS's teeth for now and wants to see him again in 6 months time unless he has any more problems. I asked if there was anything we can do about DS grinding his teeth in his sleep, but it seem there isn't anything they can do at the moment because his adult teeth have not broken through or they could give him a mouth guard for bedtime.

So now I'm waiting to see how DS's school photo will look, he had his class photo done last week before he started complaining of toothache so fingers crossed.

Thank goodness he didn't have a cracked tooth or need a filling done he was a complete moaner this morning.

Fingers crossed that the piccies are ok:hug:

He brought his proof photo home yesterday  it looks much better than last year (at least he's looking at the camera this time) no red cheeks or puffiness, so we have a couple of weeks to decide if we want them etc.
