DS has fever for one week, blood tests tomorrow(LAST UPDATE, PG 3)

Good thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery for AJ.

Prayers for your son...hope he feels better soon and that the Dr. can give you some answers.

I'm praying for AJ and I hope he is home very soon 100% healthy.

The last couple of times I have been given antibiotics, they made me more ill than I ever felt. Once it was for a kidney infection that I had no symptons, just a regular checkup. I was given antibiotics and felt sick to the stomack a couple of days latter. My friend had a similiar problem. When he went to another docter they told him the antibiotics was messing up the good bacteria.

I hope your DS feels better.

Thanks for that update, Felecia. The hospital is the best place for AJ now, observation. all around, continued prayer.

Prayers & good thoughts for your DS:hug:

I'm sending major PD and prayers your way. Hopefully with him in the hospital, they will be able to figure out what is going on. Give him a big hug from us here on the DIS.:grouphug:

Hope your son gets better quick. I know it is scary when they get sick and you don't know what it is. Hang in there and hopefully they will find something out soon.

Last year DS had what the Dr. called "just a virus, let it run it's course" (I hate hearing that!), well for a week he ran 103-104 temp., w/ Motrin & Tylenol it never got under 100. Dr. did do strep test though since it was going around - came back Neg. It took about 8 days to run its' course, then about 4 days later, DD came down with the same thing:( .

Oops, hit enter too soon. I hope your DS is feeling better soon!

Prayers & Pixie Dust for a speedy recovery.:wizard:

 Hugs to you and your family.

Thank you to all of you. AJ is came home Wednesday and is doing great. He had 'mesenteric lymphadenitis', an infection in his belly which caused the lymph nodes in there to swell. The infection caused the fever and headaches and the swollen lymph nodes caused the pain. They said they were able to see the swollen nodes on the CT scan. They put him on some heavy duty antibiotic and IV for the dehydration. He has been fever free since Wednesday night and is back to bugging his little sister! He can go back to school on Monday.

Life just doesn't seem like it has been fair to my family, but once again, you are here for me. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Wonderful to hear. Glad he is doing better.

Hope he is 100% soon.

I noticed in your sig that you are a thyroid cancer survivor. Glad you are doing better. I had my thyroid removed in 1995. I recently met Karen Smyers, the triathlete, who has battled thyroid cancer. We had a very interesting conversation.
