DS (9) has project on FL, help please!

We are stumped on one part of his state "quilt" that he has to do. He has to draw a picture and write a sentence about someone famous from Florida. Any creative ideas? I thought of Walt, but he is not really from Florida, or is he? All we have come up with is the guy who invented air conditioning. Any ideas is much appreciated!!!

I know Thomas Edison lived in Florida. I don't know if he was born there. You can see his Florida home down by sarasota somewhere. I remember being there as a child.

Did a Google search for famous Floridians born in Florida. There is a mixture of persons that lived here, but not actually born here.
