Kidcot Stations? What exactly is there for kids to do at Kidcot Stations? From what I have read I am picking up something about passports, stamps, beads?, and crafts. Could someone explain more please?!? Anyone else have luck at Kidcot Stations with a child who really doesn't care for crafts?

Much thanks!

Kidcot stations are located in every country in the WS. Kids make a mask by adding something different to it at each country. They are basically something for kids to do while parents take a look around the shops and stuff.

Another fun thing to do with kids is to buy a passport and get it stamped at each county. The CM will put a greeting and usually your child's name in the native language in addition to a stamp.

The kidcot station stuff can take anywhere from a second (to get a stamp) to 2 or 3 mins to add beads and stuff. Really nothing time consuming....It is just a way to get families into the countries.

Our boys have no great love for crafts either but, this one was quick & simple..only took a minute or two. They didn't really do a great job decorating their masks but they did like getting the stamps. My oldest asked the kidcot workers in each country to write "hello" on the back of the mask. It was neat to see how many ways there are to say hello.

My DS turned 7 on our last trip. He HATED crafts so we skipped that part of the Kidcot stations. We purchased a passport ahead of time (they are also available in the park) and he stopped at each station to get his passport signed. He really liked that. The passport is stamped, signed, and a special note is written in each country's native language. It really made him want to visit all of the countries. We also found that you didn't need to wait in line behind the kids doing the crafts if all you wanted is your passport stamped and signed. I highly recommend this for all craft haters and it won't interfere with anything else that you want to do in the WS.

Have fun!

There are also Kidcot stops at Ak. You get a little booklet and at each stop you answer nature related questions (you may have to feel in a log, guess some smells, look at some bugs, assemble some dinosaur bones, etc.) and get a stamp when you complete the test. When you finish all the stops, you get a "Friend of Rafiki" stamp to show you are a friend of the animals. My DS 5 loved doing this and, don't tell, but they might learn something too!

This sounds neat too! Are the booklets available at the Kidcot stops or do you have to purchase them ahead of time? Thanks! ::MinnieMo

Oops! Never mind. I don't know the answer to the AK booklet question. :rolleyes1

Hey :wave2:

Does anyone know where the passports or masks can be bought from and how much they cost?

Thanks :goodvibes
I'm pretty sure all of the gift shops of the countries at WS have the Passport available.. I think the cost is like $12

We were there in March and my DS normally enjoys crafts so I thought this to be a good idea. We started in Mexico and he decorated the mask, by the time we were to the third country down we ditched the mask as he wasn't into carrying it or wanting to have anything to do with it. I am thinking of trying the passports in September as DS is more interested in meeting and talking to people. If not, I heard candy from around the world can also be very tempting!!! :Pinkbounc

They have been doing this for yeeeeeeeeeeears!

However he is now 11 and STILL wants to do the Passport thing.

My luck he dont like the "Free" thing!

The Mask's are free!

Both the passports and the masks look very interesting. I hope the kids are interested in doing both. They both like crafts.

Thanks for all the info.
