Hi all,

I have qustion. My dryer is not drying the clothes. I have had someone out and look at it and does not know what wrong with.

The dryer is Whrilpool dryer. Is it cheap just buy a new dryer than call someone else to look at it.

I am conisdering buying a dryer from lowes.com Roper dryer made by whrilpool for 198.00 dollars.

Lowes.com 3 cycle whirlpool dryer 248.00 dollars.

Can someone tell what exactly is fuffy air actually does. I would love to know. :lmao:

number one,, is this a gas or electric dryer?

if gas, check the connectors, the pilot, etc.

electric.. go to breaker panel, turn off breaker. turn it back on. sometimes 1/2 of a 220 breaker will p[artially disconnect, and the heatting element wont get hot, but the drum will still turn. or vice versa,

if that doesnt work, try unplugging dryer and reconnecting. may have loosened in the socket.

after that, i would probably attemp to replace vs repair. most of the tiume the parts/labor to change out a heating element, is more than a new dryer.

Do not buy the cheapest dryer. It prolly only has high heat. No low heat, no fluff. I hate only having high heat on my dryer because it means most of my clothes are hang dried b/c I dont want to put certain clothes through high heat.

Check the vent that goes to the outside of your house for clogs. First check where the vent is outside to see if lint has built up on the cover restricting the airflow. That will make the drying stop drying the clothes. Is the dryer still putting out heat?

If the vent is clear on the outside of the house you may want to have someone check the vent line to see if something may be blocking the airflow somewhere within the tube - like an animal trying to find a nesting place for the winter.

:confused3 our dryer stopped working we called out a guy to tell us what was wrong 50.00, can't recall what is was but we went to Lowes and bought a Roper by Whirlpool extra lg. heavy duty with the fluff cycle. haven't had any problems.

The dryer is electric. I have check the vents to see if they was clogged. I also unlugged the dryer and plug back up again to. I also check the break box to.

The heating element is good check that. Take the thing part to see if was stopped up and was not.

I check everything that could be check it's still not working.

So I am replace instead of keep putting money into it. This is the second time it has went out.

I going with the 3 cycle one from Lowes.com that made by Whirlpool.

We just recently bought the dryer you are considering (and we got it from lowes.com). It is a good dryer. It doesn't have a ton of options, but it is NOT just one heat setting. It has all the settings that I ever actually used on my previous, more expensive dryer.
