I routinely get my clothes dry cleaned that I wear to work.

Now that the weather is colder, i've broken out the sweaters, and I can usually get 2 wearings out of a sweater before it goes back to be cleaned. I'm having a real problem though with the perspiration marks and (for lack of a better word) the smell of deodorant and sweat. Shouldn't dry cleaning get out these marks and the odor? Is there any alternative? I've tried the dryel at home, but that doesn't really work, and the perspiration smell when opening the bag is overpowering.

In addition, my wool and crepe pants need to really have the linings cleaned.

First of all, what is dry cleaning? I feel like the clothes are not being "cleaned" at all. Can pants linings be "cleaned"?

If there is anyone out there who knows the ins and outs of a dry cleaners and can assist me i'd really appreciate it.

Have you considered handwashing your sweaters in Woollite. I have several items that say "dry clean only" that I have hand washed without a problem.

Dry cleaning is basically throwing your stuff in a big "washer" with chemicals, no water.

I avoid buying anything that needs to be dry cleaned whenever possible. I just don't like all those chemicals near my body.

I had a white dress that I dry cleaned only for years. I hand washed it once and could not believe how YELLOW the water became with all the chemicals. It was nasty.

I agree with Dawn, try hand washing them. Be sure to dry flat and shape.
