Dry Cleaning? Laundry? We are getting ready to leave on our trip. :Pinkbounc I would like to know how much it costs to have items done in the resorts laundry. Has anyone had this done and do they know the approximate cost? We are staying at the Poly and AKL, if that makes a difference in costs. We are going to gone two weeks and would rather not do laundry myself or take two weeks of clothing.

Any information would be appreciated.

The laundry that is done for you is extremely expensive. You could probably buy extra socks and underwear at Walmart and throw them away for no more $. It's priced by the item and I think it started around $2.

If you want to do the laundry yourself, it's $2 a load for both washing and drying. The laundry rooms are very nice and generally located next to a pool (not sure about AKL).

If you have a car there is a laundry/dry cleaner about 5 minutes from Disney that I use every year. They have a wash & fold service that is awesome and inexpensive. They charge by the pound and the price is very reasonable. You go on Apopka Vineland Rd and there is a strip mall. Eckards used to be there but they had closed when we were there in Jan. I don't know if another business moved in where Eckards were are not. There is a Steak & Shake in the strip mall. I think the name of the laundry is Majestic but I am not sure. On long trips we use them twice - once midway and once at the end so I dont have to do tons of laundry when we get home. I just bring the empty suitcases with us in the car when we pick up the clothing and then pack the clean clothing right into the suitcase there at the cleaner. I highly recommend them!!! We have been using them for so many years, they remember us when we walk in. (Of course, every year I always ask them why they don't move up north to where we live and I would use them every week!! :) )

I understand that there are laundry facilities at each hotel. I am bringing some laundry powder already measured out in individual zip-loc baggies - that way I won't have to buy soap there (I heard it is VERY expensive!)

Thank you for all your responses. I think I will be doing laundry or going to the fluff and fold that Sherry8253 recommended.

Whoo.... starting at $2.00 per item that is expensive :rotfl: a little too rich for me.

I had not thought of your idea Tar heel :) I have heard of people taking their old undrewear and socks and throwing them out after wearing them. But mom always said to make sure you are wearing no items with holes in case you get in an accident. :rolleyes1

I had the same thought. We are doing 4 nights at GF and 4 nights at AKL Concierge. I don't know if the prices are the same at all of the resorts but I asked IPO at AKL to fax me a copy of the laundry price list...

Hey, that 's not that bad. I spent $20 on a suit in Nashville a few weeks ago at the Marriott...
