We caught the free shuttle bus at 6:30 from the hotel and headed to Universal. It was busy!!!!
As it was still light, we decided to pop into Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville for a drink, which ended up in me having several Ruby Red Ritas mmmmmmmmmmmm. Highly recommend (margarita, tequila & rasberry liquor) - even on a par with Bahama Breeze Bahamaritas (cant believe not had one yet).
With the sun down we headed over to Universal. Grabbed our FFP and headed through.
We turned right towards Terminator and arrived at the first scarezone, which was based on Alice in Wonderland gone wrong. I then found 'Doodys' blood bags woo hoo!!! Heres a pic just for Doody!!!!! You can see the scarezone in the background.
We hit the houses and our express passes didnt work once. They allowed us in, some more willing than others. Apparently there was a problem with a number of express passes last night. Think the longest we waited was approx 10-15 mins but a couple we were able to walk on.
Opinion - DISAPPOINTED!!!! I am not a horror film fan and I know from other reviews that people are saying it was better than last year but not for us. I normally scream my head off and grip so tight to DH's hand but I walked through 3 houses without even jumping or screaming. There didnt seem to be as many actors in the houses at all. The bloody mary house was rubbish IMO - we saw her once!!!! The best house for us by far was 'Scary Tales' - really good and I certainly screamed!!!
We decided to check out the new Simpsons ride as we hadnt done it before. FANTASTIC - loved it. They really have done a good job.
We didnt do any of the shows as we are going back next week without express passes so we decided to do the shows that night. After a quick Long Island Iced Tea at Finnegans we headed out of the park.
The bus back wasnt due until 12:00 so we nipped back to see Jimmy Buffet and another Ruby Red Rita
The wait for the bus was huge and DH wouldnt get a taxi!!!!! So we waited and 45 mins later we were back at the hotel. If you are staying here - dont use the shuttle bus coming back - it took 45 mins from Citywalk!!!!!!!!!!! :mad2:
DH is just packing up a few things whilst I type this up and then we are heading over to Port Canaveral for our Disney Cruise. Not sure if we will have internet access so may be a 4/5 day delay on our Live reports lol. :d:
