DD, 16, is starting the process to try out for drum major for her marching band. Essays have to be in tomorrow. She really has her heart set on the position! Can we have a little pixie dust for her please?
My DD, 16, was drum major this year and may be next year also. Hers is a small marching band and there was only 1 senior this year which is why she got it as a junior. She loves it.
Pixie Dust to your DD from one band parent. I heard an adult once on a talk show who said that the best moment of her life was being the drum major and marching her band down Main Street at the MK. It's just such a responsibility and so much fun being the drum major-rather fun and nerve-wracking for Mom, too!
Sending lots of PD to your DD. I remember those type of try outs (I did Field Commander... conductor for two years) and they can be nerve wracking. I am sure she will do great
