The Illuminations show is somewhere on YouTube too. The video quality kind of stinks, but whaddareyagonnado?

Monorail marched 93 Cadets.
Just kidding!!
Okay, okay......no hard feelings, right? lol I marched bari that year. I'm horrible with names but I'm sure I could remember a few.Uh OH!! I married the Drum Major from 93 Star... I don't know if I'm able to speak to you...
Just kidding!!!
After 10 years all rivalries are off!![]()
I actually am good friends with a Cavalier, and we were neck in neck in 81. I never ate so much green Jell-O in my life!
But he still can't hear the words 'one tenth' without shuddering!!
Should be true... DH even taught the Cadets' hornline in the late 90's early 2000'sBut he still can't hear the words 'one tenth' without shuddering!!

Most of the people I know were in the color guard... Jeffrey Kahler, Stephanie Murray, Craig Beisecker, Heidi Reissland. There's a few anyway.. ring any bells?
) and Phantom lost DCI by one tenth, and yes, one girl dropped her rifle! How would you like to be her?
He kind of had the same expression after my friend (re)introduced us. I was so happy to see that the school's drumline was kickin' butt.

So do you really think the Cadets got ripped off in 92? Just curious, I was at that show and I thought it could have gone either way. As long as that overproduced show of Stars didn't win that night. Jesus, blue skirts that when opened contained red and white stripes! UGH!![]()
) I thought it was a good show, but to be honest I've only seen it once or twice. I remember it had its moments, and was fairly innovative for its time.

I have the audio if you want..PM me.So do you really think the Cadets got ripped off in 92? Just curious, I was at that show and I thought it could have gone either way. I dunno. My friends who I've talked to about it all seem to say the same thing about how they got "ripped off". (Of course, I suppose it doesn't help that most of these people are either color guard teachers or performers, and tend to know very little about music performance. One of these people absolutely loves the Star 92 show.....but we'll just leave that topic alone for now.) I thought it was a good show, but to be honest I've only seen it once or twice. I remember it had its moments, and was fairly innovative for its time.
I didn't get to see any of the 1992 shows until around 1994 or 1995.![]()
so I think I can state the above opinion!!
Let me know if I'm way off here!!Okay... I'm a color guard person here... but correct me if I'm wrong... Wasn't Star's hornline in '92 phenomenal? I can understand the perception of the show being overproduced.. but that was the complete trend in the early 90's.. no? Maybe I'm a bit protective of the Star thing, since I'm so buried in it here... but as far as a musical sound.. it's not even a question in my opinion....
I've learned a lot watching my DH work with hornlines during the past 10 years, and his work with Crown is obviously amazingso I think I can state the above opinion!!
Let me know if I'm way off here!!
) Their 92 show was a bit overdone propwise, but I did love their hornline. I was never really a fan of those patriotic shows, which is probably why the 92 show wasn't my absolute favorite.
You know....that New Jersey nasally sound isn't always a good thing. In 93 Star's horns made us sound like we were playing our horns through our noses. You know....that New Jersey nasally sound isn't always a good thing.
