Oh man... I can't click that link because if I do, I will be begging my DH for a trip to WDW :p

Very cool for all who can go!

DD gets to go to the West Chester show when she is at Drum Major Camp next week.

one of our band directors works for the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corp and they did regionals down here last week or something....well anyway, they were at our school last Sunday so we all went and watched them practice...VERY COOL! it's kinda funny...everyone was the EXACT same color...they were all a really nice tan color!

I went to a drum corps competition for the first time in my life a couple weeks ago. There were groups from North Canton, Ohio (the Blue Coats), New Bergenfield, NJ and Boston, MA. I have been wondering with all the people on the boards that post from these places, if anyone knew any of these groups. Unfortunately, I can't remember the "names" of the other two groups. I think the group from Boston won. If anyone was or knew anyone that was in Alton, Illinois a few weeks ago, I was there.:D

North Canton, Ohio = Bluecoats
Bergenfield, NJ = The Cadets
Boston, MA = Boston Crusaders

The Cadets won your particular show, Pooh93.

If anyone is going to be in WDW on August 6th, there will be an AWESOME parade in Epcot after 6:00 P.M. The Drum & Bugle Corps World Championships will be held during that week at the Citrus Bowl, and 12-15 of the Very Best D&B Corps will be parading through Epcot. I wish that I could get down there on the 6th to see it, because it really is a once in a lifetime event.

(The Championship Week shedule can be found HERE. )

Darn! I really wanted to use this as an excuse to squeeze in another trip to WDW. DS is a big drum corp fan, has a friend in Phantom Regiment. Also, the percussion director from PR is from his school as well as a large percentage of the drum line, so he knows a lot of them too. Unfortunately, DS feels the need to get back to college and look for a job, so he'll have to miss the show. How disgustingly practical!

Thank you Brisully! I was really impressed by those three groups. I think I remember that we "thought" Boston should have won. The Bluecoats received 3rd place that night. Loved their uniforms and flag/rifles outfits. A couple of the boys came and sat behind us to watch the rest of the competition and they were very nice to my 5 year old dd who was quite taken with them. It would be really neat to see drum corps at WDW.:D

There's a world class drum corp in North Canton??? They sure don't make a big deal about that fact locally. I'm glad to hear that they did so well. Once again, I have to rely on the DIS for my news.

My boyfriend is a member of Pacific Crest (just got moved up to Division I this year.) He will be competing in Orlando at the DCI World Championships. I just got back from Orlando, and he is going in a couple of weeks...I wish that when we booked my family's trip 9 months ago (before he joined) that we had scheduled it for DCI week! :( But I am still very excited...will be watching the score updates all week long on dci.org. :)
