Dropping off at port question

We are planning to arrive at the port about 10:30. We need to return our rental car to Budget. I have read here that my Dh could return the car while the kids and I checked in, then he would juct need to show his ID to get his KTTW card. My question is will he miss out on anything my doing this? It would definately be eaiser than bring all three kids to the rental car place and all riding te shuttle back together. WOuld he really just walk in and show his ID at the desk, no waiting in line again? How long would he be gone to return the car and take the shuttle back?? Thanks!!

Hi,
We rented from budget and my husband dropped us off at the port and returned from budget by shuttle about twenty minutes later. I had to finish paperwork(embarkation forms not in the Disney documents) when at the terminal and I finished just when he came back so it worked out great. He had no problem finding me in the terminal. Many couches/chairs to sit on and fill in final documents.

There are porters at the drop off area ready to take your luggage. When we sailed last month the drop off from the car rental was before they were even open and collecting luggage but as soon as they opened the porters were there to take our luggage. Worked out great.
