I need to drop one person from a room only reservation at AoA with a military discount. Will that affect my discount or effect the reservation any other way? Also, we need to drop them from a couple of dining ressies, will that effect the dining reservations? We are not going to Disney until January.

TIA

I don't know about the room or the discount
But when I made our adrs over the phone because it still doesn't work on line for dvc at 180+ 10
I asked about changing adr if we had to drop dad and I was told as long as 50% of the group shows up there is no penalty but we don't have any pre paid just guaranteed with card

Why do you need to drop the person from the room reservation? You can do that at check-in, but does it really matter. You should be paying a rate for a room whether there are 1 or 4 people in there.

As far as the ADR's go, I would call WDW Dining and handle that one ADR at a time. Some require a CC hold and some do not. Phone CM's are notorious for getting things wrong so I would beware of the 50% advice unless it is in writing somewhere.

I don't know if it's different for the AoA suites, but for regular rooms there's an additional per adult charge after the second adult. So if there's 3 or 4 adults staying in the room, dropping one person will affect the rate.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about dropping one person from an ADR. I've never heard of a 50% rule before, but I have heard numerous times that as long as part of the group shows, you won't get charged the no-show fee.

The only way to drop a person from a dining reservation ahead of time is to book a new ADR with the correct number of people and then cancel the original one. If you are going from five people to four people, for example, then I would try to book new ADR's for four people. It would free up the larger tables for families of five or more. But if you have a hard to get ADR then just leave it alone. As others have said, you can just tell them when you check into that restaurant that you have one less person in your party.

I agree with PP, if you can adjust your ADR's then do it, but if nothing is available, keep what you had before.

when the no show fee was first added, we were told even one person not showing would = a fee, but I think WDW has adjusted their policy. Personally, we mostly stopped making ADR's.

I've not used the military discount, but one thing you can't do is change the LEAD person on the room reservation. I'm also 100% sure, If you have a military discount, the person w/military ID has to show their ID. If not ,your room will revert to rack rates.

Otherwise, you can probably drop anyone else with no problem. As someone else said, if you have a suite, then I don't think there is an extra adult fee. If you have a Mermaid room, then WDW charges a small fee for the extra adult. ( I think it is $10 a day at the values)

But if you don't have any tickets or dining, then you may not see any difference either way. The only thing different is that you would get a magicband for that person.

If the no show guests has tickets or dining , then dropping them would = a reduction of their ticket and dining plan costs.

Talk to Disney!

I cancelled one person several times the day before an ADR and it was no problem at all. I just called, spoke directly to someone and...done! I also cancelled the day of. For another ADR, I forgot I had still included someone who couldn't make it, and just told the CM at the restaurant that he was unable to attend, but I forgot to call. No charge either time.
