Dropping cable and watching online on tv???

To expand on someone else's question about dropping cable and use netflix, is there an easy way to watch sites like Hulu, Fancast, and the networks' own sites on my main tv. I have my Wii set up to watch netflix. Is there an add on device that will allow me to access these other sites? Between netflix, hulu, and network sites, I figure I can see 95% of my shows.

As long as your tv has a hdmi plug and your computer , hook your hdmi plug in your computer and then to your tv. Jo

Tv is too far away...plus I'd like to do something in multiple rooms so I was thinking something wireless.

We did the same thing. I watch Netflix AND Hulu on my TV now. I have a playstation and Wii though. Netflix is on both but Hulu is only on playstation. They released it to playstation first. It should be available for the Wii within the next 6 months. Hulu is 10.00.

The only way you could really go wireless is:

• By having a dedicated laptop/cheap netbook exclusively for TV use (in other words, don't "litter" the laptop with your kids' stuff/other software/add-ons). We'll call this one the "slave" laptop
  
• Attach the "slave" laptop/netbook to TV with VGA cable (blue plug) or HDMI cable

You won't be able to do multiple rooms (at least, all at one time), unless you move the "slave" laptop to each room to hook-up to each TV.

Also, you would need the newer-generation TVs to do this, because the old-school "tube" sets don't support VGA or HDMI.

Finally, make sure your internet speed is upgraded to something which supports streaming video -- otherwise, if you go with something like "Budget DSL", you may get a lot of program interruptions.

Someone mentioned Wii going Hulu - that is fine, but since the Wii is not a High Definition device, you may not get the best picture with a Wii.
