Dropping 2 people from CRT ADR?

I have ADR's for CRT for 4 people, one of which will be a 19 month old DS. The question is, if I decide to just do a girl thing with me and DD, can I just call and have them take off 2 people or will I lose my ADR and have to try for another? I really want the date and time that I have and I want it to be magical for my DD. I think DS and DH would much rather be riding Dumbo again(at least DS would :rotfl2: ) than sitting through a long, expensive lunch with princesses. We will be paying for it all OOP and I really don't want to waste money on DH since he's not too keen on the whole idea anyway. Also, if you do think I should call, should I go ahead and do it now? One more CRT question-will we still get the photo if it's just two of us? Thanks!

Update. I just called the reservation line to ask and they said that I would have to cancel and get a table for 2, which, needless to say, they don't have available. :sad2: So, I kept the ADR for 4 for now. Does anyone know if I just show up with DD if they will charge me for DH anyway? We haven't paid yet since we will be on the DDP.

I haven't been to CRT, but at the PSB breakfast, I was told if there are no shows, they would charge the credit card $10 per person. That said, we had a party of 14 and the 2 teens decided at the last minute they didn't want to go. We weren't charged for them. You could keep calling to see if they have an opening for a table of 2 as it gets closer to your date. People will be cancelling to avoid the charges on their credit cards. Good luck!

didnt you have to give them you CC#? we had to although they didnt charge it, they said it was for no shows. And Yes they would charge for it. But keep calling back and trying....unless you really wanted the castle for some reason, 1900 park fare is just as nice between character interaction and foods and is only one credit. Other than our reason for booking (never eaten there and it was my daughters birthday) we really didnt enjoy CRT especially considering the 2 credit price. Not a regret though - it was so worth it for my daughters birthday, quite magical.

I know they will charge you for your husband's lunch if he doesn't show, or at least, they charged me with one member of my party couldn't make it to breakfast. However, I didn't think they charged you for the 19 month old whether he went or not due to his age.

well if worse comes to worst, tell them to box up his meal and take it to him lol....arent breakfast and lunch ayce or buffet or something? even then they should still be able to make a to go box for someone who wasnt able to be there if they are going to charge you for him.

I don't think Disney can keep their policies straight from one CM to the next. We are going in September and have changed our ADR for CRT several times b/c they aren't booked. We started out with dinner (which we have kept) and have not been charged. Then we made one for breakfast, which we cancelled about a 1/2 hour later. We have a charge on our card for the full amount for breakfast. We're waiting to see if they take it off before we call. We now have an ADR for lunch and I haven't seen a charge... yet. So now we're just deciding between lunch and dinner b4 we cancel one. So who knows what they are supposed to do regarding charging/not. We are on DDP, btw.

The CM told me that you wouldn't be charged on your credit card as long as you were on the DDP. I hope not because I still have a dinner ADR I haven't cancelled. I'll be in big trouble if they've already charged me for both!

Well, I just got off the phone with a CM at the ADR line. I'm going to keep trying to get a 2-person table, but she told me something I thought very odd. She said to cancel my DH from our reservation, but to leave the 19 month old DS on it. She said they don't mind going from a 4 person reservation to a 3 person(even though he will be eating off mine). I thought this was strange and didn't really understand. :confused3 I didn't take her up on it because A-that totally defeats the purpose of even trying to change it and B-I'm afraid they are going to charge me for all these ADR's!!!!! So for now, I'll just keep calling..just keep calling..just keep calling...

The purpose of dropping the husband but not the baby - there arent 3 person tables so if you go from 4 to 3 you still need a 4 person table. Then since the baby is free when you show up without her you arent charged for it. Although someone else said something about putting the baby in a high chair at the 2 person table. So this leads to you keep your current ressie time, you are only committed to paying for 2 people but you have a table reserved big enough for 4 so you might then beable to decide last minute who was comming. If you decide to stay with the 4 person ressie and timing works out check at the restaurant to see what they say...you could show up with everyone but see if it matters if they just leave.

Duh...Sometimes I am so dense. I thought the CM actually intended for me to bring the 19 month old, too. :rotfl: I was thinking "Now how's that going to help?". Now do you think if I call to switch to a 3 person table and they ask the ages of the kids, they will still change it for me? Thanks!

They probably will but even though it goes against what I was trying to say earlier dont absolutely count on being able to have the last minute option of 4 people just incase when they do actually start seating that night they may look at your 3 person ressie and see the 19month old and plan on putting you at the 2 person table with the high chair.

I guess I haven't been clear. I don't want a 4 person(or 3 person)table at all. I wasn't thinking when I first made our ADR for all 4 of us. DH emphatically does not want to go and DS really doesn't know or care one way or the other. I really just want me and DD to go,but since they didn't have any 2 person tables available, I kept the reservation as it is for now.

I went to the breakfast a couple of weeks ago and the table next to us had some kind of mixup where they paid for an extra person. The waitress brought them a gift card for the difference.

It was my niece and I, we got the "free" picture, one 8 x 10 and four 4 x 6.

I'm sorry I pretty much got what you meant, and was trying to help clarify the cm's suggestion for getting around rebooking. However after what I typed the first time I felt I ought to add not to count on the larger table just incase you got there DH changed his mind and you were thinking well this chick on dis said.....

But I know how it is. we went around and around obout both crt and akershus if we wanted the whole family or just me and dd or hubbie and dd. The only reason we did all at crt is honestly we share a lot (1 adult meal 1 kid meal for the 4) so we had the credits and I had had my dd by myself all morning and hubbie didnt want to miss out on everything on her birthday. But he really really didnt want to do some of the stuff and while my son is older and does kind of like the princesses he is also kind of figuring out that as a boy he isnt supposed to so he cant really enjoy himself. So they would have loved to be elsewhere too.

Since you wouldn't be cancelling the reservation, you could always offer if any Disers were interested in joining you. They could just pay you cash when then arrived; similar to the way people handle the fireworks cruises. You could even specify a mom and her 3-6 yo DD, or whatever. It's not like you spend that much time talking anyways. When we went in 12/04 my DD wasn't remotely interested in talking with me or eating; she just wanted to watch the princesses;)

I was there this past Monday and would have loved to have tagged along with someone with 2 extra seats. My 4 yo DD was so disappointed we didn't get CRT; it was a last minute trip. There were tons of people asking about cancellations. We had 6 in our party, but only the 2 of us were really interested in going.
