I've asked this before but got my post got lost somewhere and I can't find it to bump it.

Would you drop Sci Fi or Whispering Canyon and why?

I loved Whispering Canyon so I would recommend keeping that and skipping Sci-Fi.

I'm gonna mix you all up... :lmao:

We do SciFi every year...and we did Whispering Canyon on our last trip.

We are going back to WDW this year and we're still doing SciFi and dropping Whispering Canyon - been there once and it's enough.

I thought the food was a bit too pricey, not really the type of food we love...I dunno. Wasn't the best experience for US...but we hold good memories of it though :)

SciFi - we fell in love and it's a must for us. We love their onion rings, the spinach dip, the shakes...

We've done both and my DH would only return to Whispering Canyon.

Since your advice will probably split 50-50, I would just keep the one that's most convenient for you to get to on that day.

I would drop WCC. We love the atmosphere at Sci-Fi and the burgers are great and huge. Onion rings were really good, although I've never met an onion ring I didn't like, lol.

The food at WCC was ok, nothing special. We got the skillet and I wasn't impressed. Service was not good, very rushed. We got our skillet within 10 minutes of ordering, THEN got our salad and cornbread. It was just very very chaotic, I didn't care for the food or the atmosphere.

I would drop WCC. Neither have very good food but at least at Sci Fi you can sit in the car and watch the movie clips.

I looooooove Sci Fi. The Reuben was the best I've ever had and the atmosphere is unbeatable.

Wow alot of different opinions.. I honestly havent done WCC but thats b/c Im not a big BBQ fan and well we can get that all here in SC any day of the week

Now Sci Fi gets mixed reviews about their food but I enjoy it and I think the ambiance is neat! I say try it! If you have before and havent tried WCC maybe try that one.

I know not much of a help huh?

Keep WCC and drop Sci-Fi is my suggestion.

We love WCC, the skillet is very good and the ribeye is one of the best around anywhere.
The side dishes are good as well, great cornbread that keeps coming to your table....
And the service is much better we have found there.

We did Sci-Fi last trip as I wanted to experience it.....and that is just it, it is a one time experience place.
The food was ok, nothing special. Nothing I couldn't get at the chain places around the country.
Yes it is cool, sitting in the car, watching short clips of movies but after about 15-20 mins it loses it's "wow" factor.
At that point I found myself wishing I was at a sit down meal that wasn't so "fad-ish".

So Sci - Fi is a one time "do it" place, while we return every time to WCC.
They just have better over all food, service and is more of a dinner and not an attraction.

We have never eaten at the Sci-Fi, but we LOVE the Whispering Canyon. We liked the food, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere.

Sci Fi is a must do for us each trip. Kids love eating in the cars and watching the old movies. DH and I love the food

Both places seem to get very extreme reviews. We loved sci fi. We had been warned to stick with basic food there and were pleasantly surprised. I think the cool interior is great for relaxing after being out in the Florida sun. I will probably always have a soft spot because the chef was the absolutely nicest one I met the whole week at WDW. Our ds has a dairy allergy and the chef made him a dairy free milk shake :worship: not something my son had ever had before. We wanted to try WCC but not this trip. It sounds like it could be good. My DH is looking forward to trying a skillet

I think I would drop the one the hardest to get to. Meaning if you need somewhere to eat at DHS then keep sci fi. If you are staying at WL then keep WCC.

It will be a long time before we go back to WCC. The last time we were there, it was our last meal on our trip. We waited at our table for close to an hour before we asked for a manager. After telling her that we waited for so long without seeing our server, she took our order. We told her that we would have left, but we were leaving right after our meal. The manager was nice. We also told the manager that there would not be a tip left. Our server brought out our food and decided to tell us that she wasn't suppose to be on the floor when we got there. Ok, maybe not, but we saw her walking around taking care of other tables. :sad2: The manager came back at the end of our meal and we told her about our service. We told her that IF we ever came back, it wouldn't be for a long time. Again, she was very nice, still won't go back though.

I just do not care for WCC. Even staying at WL, we will not repeat there. Sci-Fi has good sandwiches, but the environment is just awesome. That is what brings us back. It is dark, cool and refreshing..

Sci-Fi has yummy sandwiches and the atmosphere is great. Never been to WCC yet though, I hear mixed reviews about it.

Put off going to SF Diner for years because I thought it was a tacky idea. Boy was I wrong! My boys 9 and 12 thought it was the best restaurant we went to on our entire trip and me and DH (who usually like more upscale meals) plan to go back on our romantic getaway this October. The food was great and the layout was really cool. The kiddos LOVED sitting in a car.

Have never eaten at WCC but hear good things. You can't go wring.

The decided factor may be the park you will be at that day. Where are you going?

I've been to both and it's a toss up for the better food. One thing not mentioned is where you will be the day you are making the reservaton. Also, times may not be avail. I think it depends on the rest of the days activities as well since the 2 places are not at all close to each other. If I were in the MK/monorail resort area, I would book WCC, if in DHS, Sci Fi. The food is pretty much what the others have said.

Drop Sci-Fi. The two are nothing alike as far as food but im guessing the WC would be better if you are looking for a nice meal. We did a pay out of pocket for sci-fi and only did the appetizers but my expectations of the place were a bit high and i was a bit disappointed (not in the food just the whole experience). My DH looked a bit mad because he couldnt see his food. lol. lol.
My two little girls didnt react the way i thought they would I thought they would be excited but werent, so it was a so so time. The only thing good i can say about it was i did get a kick out of some of the movie clips.
Stick with the Whispering Canyon.
