Drop off/ pick up at Magic Kingdom?

We're going in early May and staying off-site. On our MK day only two of us will be going to the park, and the other two will be having a "free day." As we only have one car, two will need to be dropped off at MK and then picked up in the evening. Does anyone know about drop off/pick up at MK? Where can it be done? Will we have to pay for parking even if not actually parking? We need info!

There is a Drop Off area at the Ticket & Transportation Center, just follow the signs for the Poly, just before the Poly you will see the turn off on the right.
Or, you can drive down to the Contemp and let you folks off there and they can walk to the Main Entrance.
Will they let you past the Main Gate without paying? Maybe if you explain your intentions, I would suggest you stay to the far right at the Parking Plaza.
As far as pick up, the Drop Off area will be easier to sit in your car and wait, not sure if they will allow this at the Contemp.

You shouldn't need to pay - just tell the CM in the toll booth that you're dropping off (and later, picking up). You drop them off at the TTC, and they then take the monorail or ferry over to MK. Or you could drop them off at one of the monorail resorts - just tell the security guard that's all you're doing.
Stay to the right when approaching the MK toll booths. I think the one furthest to the right is for buses and Cast Members only, but the one immediately to the left of that is for the hotels, and so I'd think dropping off.

The entrance to MK is also the entrance to the Poly, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, and Wilderness Lodge resorts.

So there's plenty of traffic going thru that gate area that does not actually PARK in MK lot.

For extra "fun" you COULD take your drop-off folks to (for instance) the Poly and they could walk thru and get on the resort monorail from there (it stops at all resorts and MK and TTC). Just follow the signs as you near the MK lot that point you to the resort entrance (to the right). Then, tell the "guard" at the MK lot gate that you are going to the Poly for a bite to eat or to shop (you CAN do that, too).

That said, you can just tell the "guard" at the MK lot gate that you are dropping off guests and they will tell you where to do that. (They will then ride the monorail or take the ferry over to MK.)

Repeat either procedure if you need to pick up someone.
