Drop in BA CW fares

We flew into Tampa last August, a lot quieter airport, no line for rental car but it was about 8-9pm. Takes 60 mins to Disney instead of 30mins from MCO.
Wouldn't hesitate to use TPA again. I search into there as much as MCO now.

That's good to hear, am very tempted to book.

What's your opinion - do you think BA CW is worth £1k more than VA PE? That's the difference in price at the moment.

Will kick myself if BA bring back last years 2 for 1 offer.

Agree totally with Wayne, we did Tampa last year and its a breeze, car hire simple and a nice easy drive to disney - would definatley do it again.

We are also debating booking the BA cw flights with todays price drop but like you are unsure what to do - anyone got a crystal ball :rotfl2:

Hi,

Does anybody know if the Orlando or Tampa routes have the new or old club world cabin?

Hi, flew CW with BA last Oct and had the new cabin, but don't know about the Tampa route. (BTW we had the 2for1 offer and booked thru Netflights with the Quidco cashback without any problems.)

I too was confused by BA's website regarding the New club world so I joined another forum - flyer talk where all the BA experts hang out and asked there.

It gets a little confusing but what BA now advertise as New Club World is in fact the old club world a little updated. The New Generation Club World is what they show and picture and what is on the little interactive link on their website and that IS on ALL Gatwick flights and unless tech your plane should be a 777-200 3 class (can look up seat map on seat guru). There are 2 777-200 4 classes that run out of Gatwick but from my understanding they don't service the TPA or MCO route.

So to answer your question it is the ''NEW Club World'' as we know it but the BA regulars refer to it as New Generation Club World.

I'm def booking today via Netflights using Quidco which will save us a further £100 on top of the already massive saving. Virgin have responded by ....oh....doing nothing.:confused:As of this morning flights for our dates are still £1850!

Thanks Wayne. I checked Expedia they were showing the exact same price as BA but thanks for the heads up will def bear that in mind when booking further trips.

So I actually ended up booking directly with BA. I had been umming and ahhhing about NetFlights, decided to go with them and then at the payment stage of booking they wanted nearly £60 for credit card fee's. BA only charge £4.50 per ticket. I've missed out on my cashback but its a silly personal issue I have and I feel better having booked directly with BA in the event of strikes etc. As I say I am a bit funny like that lol. I am however going to try and do a price match claim but we shall see how far that gets me.
So BA...lets see what you got :)!
Also on the dates I chose VA are £900 PER PERSON more so I saved £1800 by booking BA. Wowsa.

Let us know how the price match claim goes, I know 2 or 3 posted a long time ago saying Virgin would not pay up on their promise.

Will do. The same thing happened to me with our flights to Rome with BA vs Netflights and BA did not honor the price match stating that one of the fare rules was more restrictive on the Net Flights offering. Not hopeful but we shall se. Works out an exact £30 per person saving with Netflights (which was of course wiped out by their £60 Amex fee) so hopefully they were just offering that themselves and the fare rules are the same.

Virgin has now announced their sale. Orlando is NOT included and Miami for the same dates starts at £1648. Very disapointing Virgin!

Have just looked and Miles Plus Money Fares to Miami are within £100 of the BA fares.

If I have to add another £60 pp onto the BA price to select our seats it may be worth it for us.

We now choose to fly into Maimi when flying wih Virgin so that bit wouln't make much diference. Decisions Decisions ........

Anybody any ideas on if the BA or Virgin configuration is better for family travel?

We will be going with DD(7) & DS (13)

Thanks! How about you are you going to book?

We think so - Its still a lot of money for flights but we got spoiled with the buisness class last year. previousley we would have never considered buisness class but its very tempting especially with the fact that the economy fairs are ridiculous for august. We did consider economy going out and buisness coming back when the lie flat beds are most appreciated but still not sure what to do.

Its Waynes fault for finding last years bargain - im waiting for him to offer to contribute to this years but having no joy at the moment :rotfl2:

LOL I know exactly what you mean. Thats a great idea about flying out econ and then back with the flat beds that will save you some £££ for sure.
