So DS7 and myself are literally en route stopped to get gas when I manage to spill my drink all over myself prompting me to hope for a shower prior to 24 hours of Disney, when I call my offsite hotel to hope the hotel fairy is shinning down and we can have a (very) early check in... And what do I hear but "I'm sorry ma'am we do not have availability tonight" as I explain that I have already booked through another website they apologize many many times but it seems they are overbooked at this time!!!

OH NO!!! Waiting to call the website until they officially open to get a refund an let the hotel hunt begin again, a quick search left me a little worried as I see the best of the best with available rooms, and then the worst of the worst!

Those of you checkin into hotels today... Call to make sure your room is there for you!!!!

Anyone know anywhere that has spots, I will be calling everywhere I see online to verify!

Worst case we found a hotel not near the parks at all, but it sure beats driving 3 hours home after! Either way we are going to have fun today, can't think of a better place to be "stranded" then at Magic Kingdom!

It would really depend on your lodging budget. The website you booked through they may be able to help you far better then any of us to get you a good deal since your arrangement through them has not gone through. If your hotel is a chain you may be able to hold their feet to the fire and get you a room at another one of their sister properties for the same rate. Did you try that? If nothing else, pixiedust: and good luck to you.

Thank you so much for the ideas, I actually hadn't thought to see about a sister property! I guess that's where calm collected thinking comes in.

I don't know how many nights you were trying to book, but Priceline does prenegotiated deals & we've gotten some GREAT last minute bookings like that.

Just list Disney as a point of interest in the search engine with your dates & when you options pop up, choose the 3rd tab over (Express Deals) & see what the deals going are.

Good luck!! pixiedust:

Also hotels tonight does the same. Its an app...Look after noon(12p) and pick Orlando and it will give you a choice of negotiated last minute availability.

This isn't a vacation, this is an adventure!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck, and have a great time.

You could always check if the castle suite is available tonight! ;) ;) :) :D

WDW still has value resort rooms available around $150. No FL resident rooms left, but still not a bad deal as far as rooms go.

All hotels overbook, and those who check-in early are not affected by it. It's the people who will be checking in late - usually after 10 or 11pm, that are walked to other hotels. If you have a confirmed reservation and they walk you to another hotel, they typically pick up your tab for the night too. They simply cannot deny you a room if you have a confirmed reservation. And also, when they walk you, they have a pre-arranged agreement with another hotel who has guaranteed space available for the people they have to walk. When you think about it, it wouldn't make sense for them to walk people who are trying to check-in early - they don't know how many no shows they will have by the end of the night, so it's likely they will have enough where they can accommodate everyone who shows up. All hotels have a certain number of no shows per day. That's why the people who check in the latest are affected.

I don't know what your conversation was with the first hotel, but I would still go there and attempt to check-in. If, for some reason, they deny you due to overbooking then they should be compensating you by providing alternate lodging. I don't know if this is a law (maybe it varies by state?) but it's definitely hotel industry standard. Disney even adheres to this in their fine print - you are guaranteed a room, just not guaranteed one at the resort you book.

Good luck!

Don't sport you have 24 hours to figure it out :)

No seriously, good luck and somebody should be able to help you!

If you decide to go wih Priceline's Express Deals, I had an email from them this morning with a coupon code for an extra 5% off an Express Deal booking.

Use code READYSET5 at checkout. :thumbsup2
