Driving to WDW during Easter - Never Again!!!

Who will NEVER NEVER NEVER drive to WDW during spring break/Easter again? MEMEMEMEMEMEME!!!!! While the drive down was reasonably pleasant (NC to Myrtle Beach, then 17 to Georgia for an overnight, and into WDW on 95 early the next morning) the drive back on the Friday/Saturday after Easter was insane. Almost six hours just to make it to the Georgia state line. I finally made it to Savannah about 8pm after a quick dinner stop and another torrential downpour, coupled with the worst non-accident related traffic I've ever been in. Memo to self - take the plane, rent the car, take the plane, rent the car....

I have heard the same thing from people driving back to Indiana from spring break. Going down isn't bad, but the trip home is a nightmare!

We drove down from Michigan in 2002 for Easter. OH MY GOODNESS!!! Bumper to bumper all the way down I75. Any sort of construction caused at least an hour of bottleneck back-ups. You know, the kind where when you get to the end there is nothing there that you could possibly see that would cause that kind of a back-up. Anyhow, it took us an extra 4 1/2 hours to reach Byron, Georgia. Definitely made for an intersting drive down.
