driving to MK

How long does it take to get from the MK parking lot to the entrance? I know you have to take the monorail or boat from the TTC. We're staying at POP and I want to know what time to leave to get there by opening time (if it opens at 9am).

You need to allow lots of time.

I'd be in the parking lot by 45 minutes to an hour (an hour or more is safer) before the gates are scheduled to be open.

There are so many variables.

You really want to be AT the MK GATES (after the monorail trip) by 20 minutes before scheduled opening (I prefer 30 minutes early).


I always take the resort bus to MK for this exact reason.

You can just take the resort bus from Pop -unless you had some other plans where you needed a car later. If you're on the bus by 8:15 you will be there at least 20 minutes before opening.

That would be my advice as well. There is no way I would drive to the Magic Kingdom if I were staying on site.

Using your car makes sense if you are traveling to any other park. Resort bus transportation is ALWAYS faster to MK.

Do you think I'd be ok if I left POP at 7:30am? I want to get into Fantasyland as soon as the park opens.

We did this last week. The bus ride was only 15 mins. You will need to give yourself time to walk to the gates, get your bags checked, then take in the view!
