Driving to HDDR

We are planning to go to HDDR and will have a rental car. We will be staying at OKW. Can we drive to FW for HDDR? I was thinking that it would be quicker to get back to our resort afterwards if we drove our own car.

Yes you can, you would drive to the Outpost parking lot and then take a bus to Pioneer Hall where the HDDR is held. You cannot drive all the way to Pioneer Hall.
It's a very short drive, less than 2 miles from OKW entrance.
Take a left out of OKW, a right at the light, then a left at the next light, the Outpost parking lot will be on your right a little over 1/2 mile.
It will definitely be the fastest way to get there and back to OKW.

it can take 20 or more minutes to get from the hall to outpost bus stop depending on how many loops the bus has to stop at. there is no bus straight back to other end of resort. it is about a mile beween hall and outpost. i am not sure driving car is fastest way to Hoop Dee Doo because of having to use campground bus. boat dock from MK is short walk to HDDR.

There are buses right outside Pioneer Hall back to the resorts for the later shows (last 2 shows I think), so that would be fairly quick as well, if you want to take a different approach to getting there (MK - boat to Fort).

but bus to MK then boat to FW will be an hour at least vs 5 minutes driving. No comparison - driving is the best choice.

OKW is so close to the Fort that I'd advise driving, although you still must take a bus from the entrance to Pioneer Hall.

may be a short 5 minute drive to the fort but it can take 20 to 30 minutes to get to back of fort from the parking lot, no car parking at Hoop Dee Doo. seems like at end of show other resort buses go before campground buses. it will be the same 20 to 30 minute bus ride back to front after show depending on how many stops at loops on way back. there is no bus that goes just from one end to other without stopping at loops unless you get lucky no one else riding, not likely. last trip one afternoon getting back to frot at same time falilies were arriving for 5pm show. we just missed bus, saw it leaving as we got there. was 25 minutes before a bus arrived. one father wanted to start walking afraid of being late. rest of family refused to walk when told the distance. when bus finally came father upset because bus was making 5 stops before it would get to back and he had been told it would be faster to drive.he was not happy. driving not always the fastest when you can not park near where you are going.
