We are off to Vegas in 10 days time and my partner has allowed us 4 days to go to Disneyland. My question is what is it like driving from Vegas to Disneyland. It says 4 hours on tom tom maps but we have all day so is there anything on route we might stop and see or any advice on handling the roads to Disneyland would be very great-fully appreciated. We are from England and this is my first time to Disneyland.

I:cool1: am so excited

thanks guys

Depending on traffic, four hours is a very optimistic figure for that drive - but if there's no traffic, that's about right.
The first half of your drive is through the Mojave Desert (which is actually nice this time of year). As you fly through Baker, CA, notice the 'World's Tallest Thermometer". Just east of Barstow is the Calico Ghost Town. It's kind of a neat place to stop; there's some attractions and shops to visit, including the Haunted Shack (which used to be at Knott's Berry Farm).
Once you make the turn south at Barstow, you'll be slowly climbing to Cajon Summit (there's plenty of places to eat in this segment). Once you hit the summit, you'll descend quickly through the San Gabriel Mountains (should be plenty of snow to look at). Depending on the weather, driving through the pass can be a bit dicey (fog and even snow at times, it was closed yesterday due to snow, but that is pretty rare). After you descend into the LA basin, there will be numerous places to eat or shop until you get to the resort. have fun and drive safely!

I didn't know that the haunted shack was at the Calico Ghost town! I guess it makes sense since isn't Calico owned by Knott's? Or used to be? Hmmm.... I'll have to try to make a trip out there sometime. I used to love the haunted shack at knott's and was sad to hear they took it out.
