Driving to Disney on I95 During Daytona 500 Weekend

Hey All,

We need some traveling help. We will be driving down I95 in two weeks heading to WDW, and we realized that our traveling time is right in line with the Daytona 500 weekend So we need to know what is the best route around the traffic if any, because we have heard it is a nightmare.

We heard one route is Route 10 to Route 75. We dont know how long this will take us around the area. The other alternative we heard is Route 17, but we heard that is a city route and will take you thru city traffic and we dont know how bad that can be.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I made the mistake of passing by Daytona - the speedway exit - 30 minutes after the race ended a few years ago.

Yes there was a slow down, but it was really pretty minor. Cost us maybe 15 or 20 minutes. Now I wouldn't have wanted to EXIT there, but just passing thru I don't think I'd get too up tight about it.... If you go by mid-day I doubt you'll see much extra traffic ON 95.

We drove through during the race a couple years ago and traffic was normal. Maybe you will get lucky
I have also gone to the race and dealt with the traffic at 9am... they are pretty good at their jobs and get people moving..

Yeah we opted for leaving on Wednesday, the wife didnt want to take the chance, the good thing is now we get a whole extra day of vacation and pass use. What part of NH are you from we are from Bedford.

AHH Keene, we travel by there during the summer when we camp in Londonderry VT we know that end of 101 all to well.
