Driving to another resort

Just making sure, can we drive to another resort to eat at the CS restaurant? (since there will not be an ADR for the gate CM to check) I want to go to CSR and AOA. We are staying at CBR.

You usually have to show your room key at the guard gate to show that you are a resort guest. They'll let you right in.

I have done that a lot of the resorts while staying both on and off property.

At most places the guards just asked me for a photo ID. Some places the guards just waved me in. I have never once been turned away.

Thanks, I know it will be so much quicker to drive ourselves, than do the whole bus thing:thumbsup2

We are planning on having a CS meal at AoA too. We are staying at CBR & have a rental car. The guard will also see that you have a parking permit for a WDW on-site resort(it doesn't matter which one) on your dash board. I think that helps. We never had a problem visiting another on-site resort to eat.:thumbsup2

Haha, might see you there, we are going in June too!

Anybody can drive to one of the WDW resorts - it doesn't matter if you are staying at another resort, off property or even your own home. As long as you have legitimate business there, like dining, they will be happy to let you in. They may ask for a photo ID, but they will let you in.

We do that all the time - each resort QS has their own specialty items that we like to try - Puts a lot of variety in our meals.
No matter where we are staying, we also drive over to POFQ Wed thru Sat evenings to go hear Elliot Dyson at the Scat Cat Club and have a few drinks (and some beignets). No problem parking at the resorts with the exception of Boardwalk which restricts parking to hotel guests and those with ADR's at one of the table service restaurants - especially during Epcot events.

The Boardwalk isn't always that restrictive. While we were staying at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek in February, we drove to the Boardwalk a couple of times in the evening to eat at the ESPN club and just hang out on the boardwalk. Each time the guard just asked why we were there and waved us in. Nothing was said about how long we could stay - he just said have a good time. Of course, it wasn't a busy time. That may have made a difference.

Anyone can visit any Disney Resort. They are not only for resort guests to enjoy. All you have to do is show your ID at the guard gate. I always have it ready when I pull up, and tell them I'm visiting the resort.

Have fun!

Just something to keep in mind - when AKL opened, they didn't let anyone but resort guests drive into the resort when it first opened because so many people wanted to come in and look around.

Although I have not run into this situation at any other new resort, there is always the small possibility that if they start having a lot of people driving in to AOA just look around, especially while there is still construction going on, they could opt to restrict access by car to the resort for a while.

I would probably go via Disney transportation instead of taking my car anyway. Construction sites are a great place to pick up nails in your tires - not something I want on my vacation.

Personally, the only time I have been refused entrance to a resort was once at CR when they had a huge convention in house and weren't letting anyone but guests in. But since the resorts you mention are not attached to parks, you shouldn't have a problem.
