We will be in LA over a weekend in May (not memorial day weekend) and will drive down on Monday. We have reservations at HoJo for monday - friday.

What time on Monday would you recommend leaving LA to drive down to Anaheim?

I haven't purchased our admission tickets yet but expect to get a 3-day park hopper at minimum. It will be my kids first time (DS4, DDalmost 2).

I'd hate to spend hours in traffic with antsy little ones, especially if I can plan around it!

Thanks for any help.

I would leave early in the am 0600 or so or later around 11am. I have never found 5 friendly at 0830.

10 am or 11 am after rush hour.

I second that :thumbsup2

Or you could leave early in the morning...like EARLY in the morning. I live in southern OC and when I drive up to Sacramento to visit my parents, I always leave around 4 am and I narrowly avoid traffic before getting to the Grapevine :scared1:. I would say that a couple of hours missed at the park on your first of five days is worth not having your sleep schedule messed up

It's about 1 hour drive on the conservative side when there's no traffic...but when the traffic is bad, it can take forever..... I would think leaving after 10am would be better.....

We once left the San Fernando Valley (Sylmar) at 7 a.m. on a weekday and we were at DL by 8:30.
