We are leaving Friday night around 9pm and we live in brownwood tx it is about 2 1/2 hrs from Austin. So we are trying to figure out if anybody has driven from Austin to walt disney and how long it took them. We are driving all night Friday with 4 adults driving and 2 three year olds, hoping the will sleep Friday night and Saturday we will be making a few stops to eat, potty and let them play

I recommend using Google Maps. Put in your starting and finishing addresses and it will tell you how long the drive is. Then, add in the amount of time your breaks will take.

One question, though...how did you determine what time to leave if you don't have any idea how long it will take you to get there? I usually plan my trips based on what time I would like to be someplace and work backwards from there.

I agree (on both points.)

We are leaving after the last adult gets off work on Friday, I knew we would arrive sometime Saturday and that's when our first night reservations start so weather we get to florida at 3 pm or 10pm on Saturday our tickets are starting on Sunday. I have put it into google maps but they always seem to be off to me on short trips i take so didn't know if anyone had actually made the drive and knew what we would b expecting

I've actually found Google maps to be rather accurate (for both short and long trips). But that's just my personal experience. Good luck!

It's a long drive...I drove from WDW to Austin in 2007, I think, and prob would not ever do that again, but it was just me, so no other drivers to take turns with. I would say it took me at least 15-16 hours from WDW to Austin, but maybe more...our recent drive to Panama City, FL took about 12, and it's at least 4 more hours from there to WDW.

I usually get reasonable driving times on mapquest, if you haven't tried plotting it out on there.

NOTE: You are watching the weather, right? Winter weather system is hitting Texas later this week, and if we get any freezing precipiation, the first part of your drive is going to take you longer than usual. Keep an eye on it, as you may want to try to get on the road ahead of the weather if you can.

That's been my experience, as well. I've actually found it to be accurate almost down to the minute on longer trips.

Yes, we have been watching the weather hopping it's like other texas weather and isn't as bad as it looks right now! Thanks!
