Well I have my on road test to get my license Wednessday. In my state you take your written test to get your permit, so I really just need to drive. I am FREAKING out. Some people say its easy and some say its wicked hard. My sister failed her first time and she was so sad. I really really want to pass, and I feel confident with my skills.

Then I told a friend which DMV I was taking it at and she told me everyone fails there. Ugh...thanks for the encouragment??

So Disr's how many of you passed your first time? Was it really as bad as everyone builds this test up to be? I feel like its the skills that make people pass or fail...not the DMV their taking their tests at!

Good luck. As long as you believe in yourself that's all that matters. :]

Omg same thing for me. I'm taking mine in April at the harder DMV. It's a long story. I went to get my permit on my birthday but at the DMV right near me they don't give out the permit tests on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So I had to go to Pawtucket to take the test and they scheduled my road test at that DMV. Everyone says that they are so strict there and at the DMV right near me they are so easy all they have you do is go around the block.

So basically I'm screwed. Just like you. But good luck!

Good Luck!
Blah, I'm taking the written test for my permit on Monday. I'm so nervous! It's supposed to be super easy though.

I took my permit text last July and passed it without studying. For Ohio, the test was really easy. Now, in spring I will take the driving part for my license. I am nervous but I have awhile until I take it.

GOOD LUCK!!!

How long do you have your permit for? In Rhode Island you only have it for 6 months.

Thanks guys!

I hope I pass, I went driving a ton today. I know my hand signals, and can do all the harder things. (paralell park, 3 point turn, hill start ect...)

I should be fine, but I am still nervous. Ill let you all know how it goes.

I go for my test in....about 3 weeks or less. Not sure, exactly. Depends on when I finish driver's ed. I never applied for a permit because you don't need one in NH. You can legally drive at 15 1/2 with a parent or legal guardian. Once you are 16 you can drive with a parent or legal guardian and up to as many passengers as your car will hold. After passing driver's ed, you take your written and road tests on the same day (occasionally, as with my driver's ed class, your written test is your final exam). The DMV nearest me is open monday, tuesday, and wednesday and I get to take a day off school to go take my test! I'm pretty confident in myself because apparently this DMV is super easy and all you have to do is drive up the road, change lanes once, turn once, and park straight. I can't wait to have my license.

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR TEST! I hope you pass!

That is how NJ is. You take the test for your permit. I just have to wait till my birthday for so I can get my permit then i have to wait a year for my provisional license.

Good luck! I'm going for my permit test on Monday, and I'm nervous I'll fail even though everyone says it's a piece of cake. That just makes it even more embarrassing. ;)

Lots of luck! Here we have to have a permit 6 months before getting your liscense, and we can get the permit at 14, liscense at 16.

I got my license last may, I passed my road test on my first try (even though I started out with the parking break STILL ON!!!!!) I was TOTALLY nervous though!!!

In ONtario we have a grade licensing system, first when you're 16 you can write a written test to get your G1 (which is essentially like a permit, you can drive with a licensed driver in the passenger seat) then you do drvings chool & all that jazz. THen once you've had your G1 for 6 months (or maybe its 8? i cant remember) you go for your road test and if you pass you get your G2, you can drive by yourself, on highways etc. Then after you get your G2 you have 5 years to get your G (which is your full license) I still have to go for that (I'm prolonging it for as long as possible!!!)
The only big difference between a G2 and a G is that your blood alcohol level can be slightly higher when you have your G.

Anyways, I've been driving by myself for almost a year, and I have become a reeeally confident driver, I have no problem on the highway or anything.
I love driving. :goodvibes

Anyways GOOD LUCK on your test!! I hope you pass on your first shot!

It's 6 months here too. I am just waiting a little longer for I will have the money to get a car after I get my license.

I still need to get my permit. Im super scared of just going to the place. I have bad anxiety and the people there are so mean it's like your going to jail. >.<

Congrats! :thumbsup2

Where I live I had to take a written test to get my permit (which I could get once I turned 15). Once I got my permit, I had to have it for at least 6 months (which was no problem), and do Driver's Ed. I did Driver's Ed in a Box (that's what it's called) and it's where one of my parents teach me everything and there's certain requirements I have to have done to get my lisence. I got my lisence the day I turned 16 and all I had to do was get a form signed by my school stating that I do actually go there, get a few other forms signed and have a form stating that all my driving hours (I needed 30 - something like that) & requirements were completed. I didn't even need to take a test to get my lisence - I just presented the forms and BAM! Lisence! :rotfl:

Once I got my lisence I had restrictions:
- Only 1 passenger in the car at a time unless it was an emergency, they're over 18 or they're family
- No driving between 12am - 5am (I think it's 5...)
And those last for 6 months.

My restriction ends on the 15th :cool1:

I also have to get my lisence renewed every year until I turn 18 - yuck

I cant have anyone other than immediate family in my car for these first 6 months. Also I really cant speed because my state has been cracking down and at least 13 of my friends have had their licenses taken away now for speeding. (Which means I would have to take drivers ed again and re take the road test! :scared1: )

Also I cant drive between 12:00 and 5:00 am...which is really no problem. Like I would like to stay out late, but whatever its only 6 months.

I've never been pulled over, and I don't speed . There are some CRAZY drivers where I live, and it's not uncommon to get into an accident, but I haven't :)

I've been out after midnight a few times - once on accident (there was a wreck and there was a lot of traffic) and the rest of the times were allowed since it was for a school function. No one will ever have to worry about me driving before 5am though - waking up early just isn't my thing :rotfl:
