Driving Licence

Good afternoon everybody.
Could anyone tell me if my old style driving licence,without the photo,is valid for the USA or do they require you to have the new style.

I was planning to use my old style paper one but have decided to swap it for a photo one so I have a form of photo ID I can carry on me. We need photo ID for a few days for backstage tours so I thought that would be better than carrying my passport around.

I've just swapped my paper one for a photo one

It took about 2 weeks to arrive back. Not impressed with the quality of the card though - I was expecting a credit card type thing, not a laminated card!

You can use your old style lincence but it is handy to have the new type as you can use it for I D but if you are happy with your old one O K

We have used the old paper ones every trip and have not had a problem. We have just sent our old ones away (still waiting for them to come back)to be replaced by the photo one as like said above its going to be handy to have for photo ID.

Tim DD has a provisional photo card license and its like a credit card..wonder why they are different from the full licesnes?

Although most places will accept the old style driving licence (we've never had a problem) a lot of places say the require photo ID. so i personally know a few people who were told they couldnt use it but i guess it depends who you get!"

When I was there in February, I was stopped for speeding (there must have been around 80 officers hiding behind a bridge!!!) and I think my large paper licence confused him!

Therefore, I will not be swapping for a new photocard for a long time!
