Driving Licence Query

I know there are several threads about this but I cannot find a recent one *blushes and begs for forgiveness*

Will DH require a photo card licence to drive, or is an old paper one acceptable?

Old paper one is fine for the rental car.

would make sure you have your passport as well to show them,think they will photocopy it

Although a paper licence will do the job, a photo one can be useful to use as ID when required (soome shops ask for photo ID when using large travellers cheques or CCs).

The advantage of getting a photo licence is that the Americans will in the main, accept it as proof of identity when cashing travellers cheques etc and eliminate the need to carry your passport all the time
