We just bought a 5th wheel camper and are planning our first Disney trip. My In-laws are coming in their motorhome and don't want to drive through. Where do the other cajuns stop to rest? We have two small kids as well so manning up and driving through is pretty much out of the question.

In three trips, We have stopped at Robertsdale, Al, which followed with a stop at Lake Louisa SP before arriving at the Fort, Okaloosa, Fl rest area, and Chattahoochee KOA. Stopping at Okaloosa and at Chattahoochee put us arriving at 1:00 PM Fort time. This is traveling from Alexandria, so you have a 2 hour headstart on me. Knowing that, I would say you should be able to make it to Lake City/I-75 when you stop. Our four year old travels very well so long as he has videos to watch and snacks to eat. We have made it home twice in a one day, 14 hour drive.

we're a bit further away in TX... we are stopping at Falling Waters SP in Chipley FL on the way there (350 miles to FtW). On the way home we love the Mississppi Welcome Center at Hancock County (i-10 & Highway 607 near Pearlington MS) as it has pull throughs and 24 hr security for campers away from the 18 wheelers. Just ignore the no camping signs.

Falling Waters in Chipley is a beautiful campground. If you have time do the underground cave tour. It is very inexpensive and very neat! About 8 bucks for adults.

We normally leave on Friday after work and drive as far as Tallahassee. There are two KOA campgrounds in that area. Both have been fine.

We have stopped at the Milton, Fl. KOA. It's about an hour past Pensecola and its right on I-10. If you just want an easy place to stay the night, its a great place. You can see it from the highway. I think from there its about 6 hours to Disney.

we just went for mardi gras. stopped at the in and out in lake city. easy on off, pull through sites, free wifi and really inexpensive. left us about 3 hours to the fort gates!

We're in Baton Rouge. If we leave early we stop in Lake City at the Inn and Out. When we leave later we've stopped at the Chatahoochee KOA near Tallahassee. Both were fine. The KOA has very nice comfort stations-we didn't even hook up our water or sewer.

We take our RV to New Orleans from the Tampa area at least once a year and we stop in Tallahassee as well. There is a KOA that is a couple of minutes off the interstate an very easy to get in and out. When I was there last year, the small store was making pizza and they even gave us free ice cream because they ran out of 50 amp sites.

The sites are not exactly level and it is not easy to get satellite, but it fine for an over-night.

There is also a Yogi Bear Campground east of Tallahassee that we have stayed at. It is fine for an overnight.
