going to orlando going to drive from airport to comfort inn and from there to clearwater and busch gardens while over there as anyone any tips on driving as never drove outside the uk before.

Hi there

I'll start the ball rolling by saying that I find it much easier driving in the US than at home

The first time I was planning to hire a car I 'Googled' and found some useful driving tips online
It was a few years ago so I'm afraid that I can't remember the site I used.
I also printed off maps from www.randmcnally.com to help me on my way.

I know others will be along to offer their own advice and personal favourites

I agree it's very easy to drive there - I should also add that I've been stopped by Police in Florida more times than I have in the UK

for my first trip last July, i used Google Earth , for routes in and around orlando,

Very, very easy to drive over there!
All their road signs go by the compass... so make sure you know your East and West's!!! Never really needed a GPS system.. and have driven from Canada to Key West without any problems.
The only things you have to watch out for.. is the inside lanes sometimes disappear without warning, but in the US you can 'sit' in any lane, so try sticking to the middle lane on the Interstates. Also watch out for the road signs, they usually come up 'well before' the actual exit.
A good point, is that you can turn right on any road, unless it states 'no right turn' (usually at traffic lights) - I wish we had this rule over here.. how sensible.
When you come to a junction (stop sign), everyone goes 'in turn' ie. if you come up to a junction first, you move off first, and so on.
The general pace of driving over there is much slower.. so just 'relax' and take it easy!!
