Driving In and Getting a Hotel Without Reservation?

We are currently on our way to WDW, and we were going to stop and get a hotel in Jacksonville tonight, until we can check in to ASMovies tomorrow.

I didn't want to leave until tonight, so that way we would of arrived at check in tomorrow, but DH was to excited to wait any longer.

So, we left this morning, however we don't have a reservation for anywhere tonight.

Do you think we have a shot of going all the way into the area and getting a hotel this late at night until tomorrow morning?

Everyone is sleeping right now, so I don't want to stop at Jacksonville if everyone is so settled, but I have never checked into a hotel with out a reservation.

Any suggestions or opinions would be very greatful.

I would call Choice Hotels...they own a whole bunch of different hotels...their website has about 15 locations in the Jacksonville area including Clarion, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, and many more, the good news, they have a central reservations phone # so you can check availability and pricing on about 15 different hotels with one phone call, and they're not super expensive looking places.

I would say your odds are good. Its not a holiday weekend and Orlando has MORE hotel rooms that just about anyplace. Don't get too picky. A good bet might be the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista. If they don't have rooms they seem to be owned by a place that controls a bunch of hotels.


Daytona is going to be booked, not sure if any of that spills over to Jacksonville. (can't recall how far that is!)

Something closer than Jacksonville.

But, I am going to use that Choice Number as well and see what they have.

I am just in my most productive part of the drive right now.

All the kids just feel out.

And I don't want to stop at Jacksonville if I don't have to, you know what I mean.

Glad it worked out. I think I have stayed at that one. Ask if Sherbeth Road is nearby, if so it's an easy backdoor to WDW!

You found it. Follow that road and it takes you to Disney right by the AK. Avoids the whole Kissimee and I-4 mess.
