We've not done it before, but I needed a car for my 29 night DVC stay, so we are. We're around an hour from DS's home in Fish Hawk Ranch, so we're almost there! We check into BWV on Thursday, and we're looking forward to meeting some new Disboard friends for the Illuminations cruise on NYE. (Still 2 seats left!:goodvibesIn case you are interested!)

Is anyone else going to the Notre Dame game on Thursday in the Champs Sports Bowl? DS bought tix:goodvibes. It meant canceling the Fantasmic package we had for Thursday, but we were able to book one for Sunday! That was lucky.

It's cloudy here, but our hometown had snow in the forecast, so we're glad!

WOW, 29 days! Have a wonderful time and enjoy the Snowless January you have awaiting you.

I have driven 1-75 from Michigan more time's than I care to remember. We leave about 3am amd drive to Perry or Tifton Ga. Then the next morning we are in Disney by 11am. The other's that I drive with alway's enjoy the drive. NOT ME. I can fly out of Flint and be in Orlando before they hit Kentucky, lol.
Glad you survived the drive. Enjoy your Disney vacation and the BWV. I was at BWV the day after Thanksgiving and got a village green view room. It was a nice stay.

Safe travels and enjoy your 29 day stay! Boy am I jealous ......... but I will be arriving for NYE and then a Dream cruise to celebrate my son's college graduation.

Wow! 29 days - sounds so great.:cloud9: Are you hopping around from resort to resort or hunkering down in one. Have a wonderful New Year at the World and have a wonderful extended stay. Keep us posted with live trip updates and pics - please. And as always - take some pics of my beloved Wilderness Lodge.

At least you did not have to drive through Florida-FSU traffic going to Gainsville. I hit that when I left only to encounter random stopped traffic. No accidents or lane closures, just seemed folks couldn't handle that much traffic so they stopped :/

Welcome to FishHawk! Your son must be my neighbor!
So happy you made it safe and sound!!

We drive 75 all the time, but only up to about Atlanta. Can't say we enjoy the drive....long and boring....but at least DH insists on driving so I can sleep or read or play on my phone! :D

Have a great time on your extended vacation!

Hi! I don't know how to put pictures on my iPad, unless DS can teach me soon, there won't be any.
I have different resorts with different people...DH & I at BWV for NYE, Kidani with whole family for Marathon, BWV &. BLT with DSis & a friend, VB with. Friend, Jambo with Family &friends, and finally ending with DCuzs at BLT.
Thank you for the good wishes, and I hope you and your family have a wonderful New Year, too!

I love that you got something you have to have your son to help you use, don't we just love all these new gadgets.

Now that you know how we expect a photo update. :thumbsup2

I can't wait to see at the end which resort ended up being your favorite experience this time.

It's wonderful having someone to SHOW how to do something. If I had to rely on reading instructions, I would be lost for sure!

Bobbi,

Have fun... we just got back into Dayton Christmas eve... I had to make that drive down and back with 4 kids (under 10) in the minivan.. I was glad to be home!! haha. No they are really great travelers, with 6 of us they have to be as it would cost a fortune to fly us, which would mean less money to spend at Disney!! :) Our littlest (3) had us stopping though every 120-150 miles though for a potty break.

As for the weather no snow as of yet, sun was actually out, but it's not 75-80 like it was down there last week...

Have fun.

Thanks for the weather report from home. The nights are getting cooler here, with lows in the low 40s when we have our pirates and pals cruise next weekend.

I'm glad you made it home safely! DS understands the drill...his kids are a year apart, now, 7,8,9. and has been through it all, too!

Well you've apparently I see your son taught you how. What a great trip:banana:. I don't want to wish my life away but retirement must be great!!!! We are considering doing Christmas to New Year's or maybe the day after Christmas to NY at Disney next year as DSis has a pediatrician conference at the GF. They gave her a great rate for the conference and if I can get it too- I may just stay there too and save my points. It looks like you guys might have a frost warning tonight:scared1: so stay warm and know that its a balmy 28 degrees in New York.
