Driving I75 - best hotels in Valdosta?

We usually only stay at Disney, Hilton or Marriott hotels. We are travelling with other couple and they want other hotel options besides Hampton (Hilton) Fairfield/Courtyard (Marriott), any suggestions? Must be very clean and safe.

I was just going to post this very same question! We are leaving Friday and staying overnight at a Ramada Inn in Richmond, Kentucky ($27.00, entertainment book rate!) and would like to stay Saturday night in Valdosta. Last year we stayed at a flea bag hotel in Tifton and are hoping to avoid doing that again.

Anyone with a decent recommendation? Doesn't have to be fancy, but clean would be nice.

We stayed at a really nice Clubhouse Inn in Valdosta 2 summers ago. We had not ever heard of them before but it was GREAT...stayed at another one later and it was nice too. It was a couple of years ago, but I would be happy to stay there again this summer on our way home.

I just got reservations for the Masters Inn in Tifton, GA. Does anyone know what this place is like?

We drove down in Dec. and I think I remember seeing a brand new LaQuinta Inn...was not open then but sure looked ready. I hope it was Valsosta....mightve been closer to Macon....check their website...sorry not of more help...but at least it should be nice and clean!

Country Inns and Suites has a property in Valdosta. I've not stayed at that one but stayed at one at the other end of GA. The room was very large and immaculate. It had a microwave and small refrig. There was a very nice breakfast in the am....even make your own waffles and hard boiled eggs. If I ever drive to WDW again, I'll be staying at one of their properties for sure.
