So i'm a total newby at driving in Orlando. We're going to Universal for HHN on Sunday Oct 18th from CBR and I have no idea how long it takes, how to get there, shortcuts, etc. Any helpful tips, suggestions, links? Should I take a cab instead or brave it myself?

Driving Disney and the tourist areas in Orlando is very easy, there area signs everywhere. From CBR go right on E.Buena Vista Dr. and get on EPCOT center drive east, basically going away from EPCOT this will lead you to I-4,which you will take going east towards Orlando, after you see exits for International Drive and Sand Lake rd the signs for the Universal exits are next, very simple and shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes from hotel to park. There are several other ways and shortcuts if you want to avoid I-4 which many people say has horrible traffic,in my opinion the traffic isn't that bad until you go past the tourist areas and get closer to downtown.Anybody else can chime in with other suggestions,I just kept it simple,as long as you find your way to I-4 and go east towards Orlando you'll get there.

Good post and I agree. I-4 would be the best. Just go I-4 East and if you get to Milennia Mall then you know you went too far. :)

And afterwards, when you need to go back to Disney from Universal, just remember to get on I-4 and head "west for Walt Disney World." :cool2:

And coming back, you will want the Epcot exit off of I-4. After exiting, you will pass the exit to DTD/Typhoon, and then the second exit closely follows, which is labeled for the Epcot resorts area. Exit here, and you can't miss CBR, which will be on the left.

Thank you all so much! It doesn't sound nearly as intimidating now as it had in my head prior to this post. It is just rather intimidating coming from small town PA to think of driving in such a busy place. When I lived in Seattle, I don't think I would have been as frightened, but now that i've been in the country for 5 years, big cities seem overwhelming!:rotfl:
