WE've decided that we'd like to drive down to Orlando on our next visit (still tba), we are going to take 2 days each way to drive and would like to make a stop in West Virginia and Georgia on our way to Orlando. My question is, where are some of the most scenic and down right beautiful places to stay in these two States? I'd really like to make this drive as pleasing as possible and taking in a few sights along the way may help the 22 hour drive seem...I dunno.....tolerable...lol!!:goodvibes

From your post, it sounds like you'll be driving south from Erie PA using I-79, US 19, I-77, I-26, I-95 to I-4 to Orlando. If that's the case, there's a must-see in WV - New River Gorge. There's a scenic overview just off highway 19 about 20 miles north of Beckley WV. Further along I-77 the highway goes right through the mountains via two long tunnels. There are mountainous roads all the way to the state line of NC with gorgeous views. Don't worry, the roads are good. Then it flattens out the rest of the way. My DH and I always say we feel like we're driving through a park on the interstates. Once you get to GA, take the time to go into Savannah. River Street is in the historic district and is not to be missed.

We just got back from Florida yesterday but this time we flew. Honestly, I much prefer to drive. I don't think you'll regret it.
