We were orginally going to leave apx 3am on Fri, July 27 but since we are getting our rental on the 26th in the morning and our kids are out of camp at about 4pm my husband wanted to leave around 5-6pm on the Thursday I know he doesnt like to drive at night so I thought we would drive about 5hrs get into Pittsburgh, PA and get a hotel/motel (well somewhere to sleep)

ANYWAYS LoL anyone recomend a place as dont want to spend alot of money and then frpm Pittsburgh, PA is there any good places for the kids to see on the way down to FL? I wanted to take the kids to places on the way down as who knows if and whenever we will ever drive that way again.

We will then stop in Jacksonville, FL where inlaws live stay there til Saturday as we cannot get into the house we are renting til Sat at 4pm so again any suggestions I would TRULY appreciated
Thanks Robyn

There is a number of good, inexpensive, hotels on your route.

Comfort Inn's are usually OK (as long as your not looking for anything fancy).

I've stayed in the Sleep Inn about 90 minutes south of Pittsburgh a few years ago. The room was clean (and like many small hotel/motels in the USA, the room rate included breakfast).

The hotel is located about 1 minute from the I-79 exit.

The drive through the mountains is very scenic. There are a few places to stop and take pictures. Stopping at the New River Gorge, http://www.nps.gov/archive/neri/crvc.htm is awe inspiring. Watch your speed on US19. It's notorious for ridiculous speed traps.

If your family is into Nascar then there are tons of places to stop North of Charlotte. After that the drive is a little sparse for scenic stops. By then we're in a rush just to get to Disney.
