I’m coming to Disney next week, and this will the first time in years that I’ll be driving from the airport to wilderness lodge. We usually take the magical express, so I don’t know much about the drive because I never paid attention on the bus🙄. Is Alamo located in the terminal, or do we need to take a shuttle? How many tolls are there? How much are they? How busy is traffic during rush hour? Is parking free for DVC members? Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions.

Alamo is in the terminal.
parking is free for dvc
depending on what route you take , traffic is pretty bad at rush hour
if you take the toll roads much less traffic.

We always take 417 vs 528 as it’s a lot less busy. Pretty sure tolls are around $3. I always bring dollars and quarters.

Also be sure the Sun Toll pass is turned off in the car when you get in. It wasn’t when I rented from Alamo last year and only knew that when we hit the first toll both and she said it was on.

Cost us an extra $11.

Note that rental car pick ups are only on the Terminal A side at the moment. Don’t be like me and forget this, and then have to trek all the way across the airport

I use Waze and just pick whichever route is quicker, which can vary based on time of day.

Have fun!

We use our own Sun Pass, makes it easier. We do often drive around FL, and it’s been worth it.

Bring a roll of quarters, just in case you make a wrong turn and end up where there is not a person to take the toll.

Agree with Sandisw, Take 417 South. Starting taking 417 years ago and never looked back

Parking is free for DVC at the resort if you are a member or staying on points. It is free at the theme parks as long as you are staying in a Disney resort, not because of being DVC. Being a DVC member staying offsite doesn't get you free theme park parking

Thanks. Staying at Copper Creek so it’ll be covered

In terminal, 1 toll $2.75 on Rt528, parking free for dvc.

I always drive, and I always take a route that avoids tolls. It's just way too expensive to go through tolls with a rental car; they charge a tremendous amount for use of the Sunpass.
The route I take--and I stop at Aldis to stock up on necessities, and then the Disney outlet store--takes about 40 minutes.

Does the 417 take EZ pass? I know it takes NC quick pass, but I won't have my car. If I get an EZ pass portable, I can bring it with me.

Be very careful with EZ Pass. Only the Central Florida Expressway Authority's roads accept it. If you are driving a rental, and you go through a toll area without paying the extortionate rental fee charged by rental companies, you will be hit with a huge charge by the rental company. That's why I always avoid tolls. See below for a map; the 417 does accept EZ Pass.

I'll put in a plug for the Uni (formerly E-Pass Extra). It covers pretty much every toll road East of the Mississippi---and might be the only one that works in both the FL/GA/SC system and the EZ-Pass network. I have an E-Pass Extra and have used it both in Orlando and Illinois/Indiana within the last year.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately, there was a death in the family last evening so the trip is canceled. It was expected, but not nearly this fast. I am praying the rest of this year improves
